Well we just bought a 2001 HO 6 speed 4x4 chassis cab with 69k miles. (I split the 5 speed case in my 97 in half) This will be a back up pull truck/runners truck. I'm currently driving it till my new NV4500 & 241DHD arrive.

Just wanting to know what to watch out for. The truck was maintained very well. I've serviced everything & checked everything I could think of. I've noticed a very light gear (no vibration) wine in 6th gear, is this normal?? Gages will be here Wednesday, Fuel pressure, EGT, boost, transmission temp, & oil temp.

There is no smoke from the exhaust period, is this normal? Power level is a little better than I expected. Its much quieter than the 97 was stock. I love the 6 speed when pulling the gears are spaced perfect, hate it when just driving-way to slow. Is it normal for the clutch petal to feal like your trying to crush a basketball? (maybe my McLeod clutch has made my foot lazy)

I noticed they sell banjo fittings with larger fuel ports in Geno's, what are these for??

From what I've heard & read, injectors, turbo, & boost fooler? the way to go??

Any remedies for the lift pump?

Thanks,

Zac

I think you will have better luck with your chassis cab and lift pumps because the lift pump was designed to pull fuel about the distance that a regular cab truck is set up. I would suggest that you not run it below 1/2 tank that also helps the lift pump (should not really be a problem since these things ride so rough you will need to stop and pee anyway) hope this helps.
