Tornado III 12 Volt Portable Air Compressor ?????

Anyone in California towing double?

OK so I pick up my new 06 Megacab today and get home to instally the Jordan 2020 controller. Since i like to test things before I start cutting wires and stuff I hook evertyhing up with the controller sitting on the floor no less I push down on the manuel brake switch and low and behold I get a 88. 8 on the display. Check the FAQ and it says I have a short. Now I'm hooking to this to a trailer that I was pulling with my tired old Gasser up until Tues.

I have checked and double check the wireing and nothing anyone ideas before I throw this damn thing out the window and be ****** about wasting $120 on it.

'02, using the factory wiring harness works great. Unless something has changed, it should work fine. Red to battery, blue to blue in truck to trailer harness, white to ground on truck chassis if my memory serves me correctly. I don't have the diagram in front of me.

Does Jordan have the same wiring code as the other brands?

AFAIK, yes. It was the same as the Draw-Tite I pulled out. At any rate, the three wires I mentioned are the same with all of them. The Blue is the brake actuator, red is battery power and ground should always go to chassis, regardless of what color it is.

As I recall the factory wiring harness does not match by color to the Jordan. Blue was to the trailer brakes, for some reason I remember the red on the harness was for the brake light switch so the black one the harness went to red one the Jodan controller. Don't take this as gospel as I am going from memory. You need to do this by function or by testing even tracing the harness wires. As I remember it the wiring harness and the Drawtite colors matched but did not on the Jordan. Seems to me black on the harness was 12+ and red on the Jordan. Mine is connected and seems to work but have not towed yet will do that Monday on a 400 mile short round trip. Looking forward to it.

Oh just so you know I did not install the Drawtite nor the harness so I have no idea if the harness is factory, from Drawtite of someplace else. I knew blue was for Trailer brake actuator and just used a volt/ ohm meter to determine +12 volt and ground and connected to the correct wires on the Jrdan. Sure hope this helps.

I know that I picked up a Prodigy and hooked it up color for color based up on their chart and towed with it with ZERO problems. Still going to give the Jordan folks a call on Monday but if there is nothing wrong with it I will probably sell it.

If it ain't broke don't fix it and the Prodigy is working fine.

Jordan Performance

It would be a shame if you can't get it to work. I just finished a 2700+ mile trip and our combined was over 21k lbs. The Jordan was FLAWLESS with this load. The rig felt like the trailer wasn't even there under braking.

Don't know if the wiring in the '06 is the same as in my '03 or not, but when I put in my Jordan, I could not match colors. I had to go by function. Believe me, I double and triple checked before soldering things together. If you get it working, I really think you will like it. I used to have a Prodigy and switched to the Jordan, and I would not go back. The Prodigy is now my back-up controller. I just towed a 17K fiver 850 miles from CA to AZ over some pretty big hills. The Jordan is much smoother than the Prodigy ever was.

Good luck

The Jordan colors do often not match up with the stock wiring harness colors. Blue is always blue, thats about all you can bet on! Can't remember... are the functions labeled on each wire of the factory wiring harness pig tail?

Just finished my 400 mile tow with the Jordan. I can say without a doubt there is a night and day difference. Much more reliable and very much more comfortable towing than the old Dawtite. I actually know I can get stopped when necessary. This rates right up there with the most important install besides the exhaust brake.

Just a quick off the wall comment... we were having a problem with a 3 axle trailer..... we moved to a new truck and the new controller kept giving us an error code..... I finally pulled all the wire out of the brake circuit and replaced it all... .

Found that the wires in the axle tubes that cross from one side to the other..... had moved around so much in the tube that the bottom of the wire had rubbed in the axle tube and worn through the insulation... . and would short out..... giving the code... .

It was dexter axles, so I walked across the street to the dexter dist. and showed him... he'd never heard about the problem... . we decided that since we use this trailer 50 times harder than a travel trailer that it was just not designed for this service...

Needless to say the error message was correct on the controller and we moved all the wiring outside the axle tubes so that we can see if there is a problem.....

Just my 2 cents worth...
