Gotta give credit where credit is due. Jr. be da man today. He is a very good driver and has the best equipment money can buy. The king of the fast track? I doubt it. Like the old saying goes, " The sun don't shine on the same dog every day" or something like that, I will wait and see. I think Sterling still has a few wins left in him as well as Bill Elliot. There are also about a dozen young drivers making big waves in the sport. Jr. has got his work cut out for him to stay on top. bg

I bet there are a few other teams that wish they knew the secret to DEIs restrictor plate program. He had plenty of HP at the end of the race.

Some of those Ford's didn't look too shabby either.

X boy finally said something worth repeating.

Take those damn cars running in a line with restrictor plates and TURN them loose!!!

Looks like the interstate at rush hour- with less beer.

I clicked on this thread hoping that it was about J. R. Adkins... :)

NASCAR is boring... . even if there is beer involved. Nothing but a bunch of whiners driving cars that aren't even remotely close to something 'stock'. Ever notice that people only cheer when someone crashes?

Would you go to a quilting bee if there was beer involved? Neither would I.

Matt

My high school history teacher said bull riding and Nascar are similar- people dont give a rat's behind about the skill involved in either one; they just want to see the great wrecks first hand.

Have to agree with Holset and XCumminsX- I dont get why anyone gets excited about ANY professional sport. It is someone else playing, making the big bucks (and whining, usually- "Oh, I sprained my ankle; stop the clock; carry me off the field" Wussies). Heck, I rode bulls for 5 years, and I still hate going to rodeos I'm not entered in. I feel like I oughtta be in it; and a bit wussified for not being entered.

When I clicked on this thread I thought it was going to be about me...

Left turns a pit stops are boring... crashes are cool. I am a Sports Center Nascar fan... all they ever show is the crashes.

All sports these days suck. Everyone good is only good because there on steriods... (football, baseball) and the other sports are just boring... ..... How is nascar the biggest sport in america... what a joke.

Nick

I agree that Nascar is kind of Boring,

I watch 1 or 2 events per year, mostly to see how Dodge is doing, and I did watch the last 1/2 of Daytona yesterday. Jr did have the HP to pull off that pass on his own which was great. Now Bull Riding, I watch everyone that comes on TV, that is fun.

My sport is off road motorcycle racing. Not Motorcross but Enduro Riding. Its a timed sport where you have to average a certain speed over mixed terrain. Its fun as hell to do, but when they have it on TV I have to agree its like watching paint dry. I bet it would be fun to run a car around those nascar tracks, but I don't think its worth several 100 dollars to rent a car for 5 minutes.

Got picked on?

What happened Nick, still mad at the jocks for picking on you in school?:D :D

TowPro, you are right about running around a Nascar track in a real racecar. If you are close to Narareth or Pocono, spend a few bucks(50 to 75) at one of the schools at these tracks. They have a ride along with an instructor for a few laps at race speeds that everyone should experience. It will get your blood pumping for sure. It is worth every penny! To actually drive them is quite pricey but still worth it.

I missed the race because I wasn't paying attention. I don't watch every race but the Daytona 500 is pretty cool and I saw the one when #3 passed away.

Congrats to Jr. There are too many drivers that are the son of somebody and that's about all. The guy obviously has talent and guts to go out and make it happen.

Watching a full race is not my idea of the best use of time. I love to play the software version on Play Station or the PC.

Nick

left-straight-left-straight... .

i do like watching the road racing they have, but the ovals get boring to watch real quick i think. even beer can't fix that... now i like F1 racing, and sometimes that gets boring too...

I did'nt really care for Sr. but Jr. is a good kid. He has the talent of his dad but almost no arrogance. Congrats to him and the rest of the DEI team.

Nascar was much better in the days of the moonshiners though.

Speaking of Moonshiners, Greased Lightning has been running on HBO/Cinimax the last couple days, great movie
