Any Cigar Aficionados out there?

As many here may know that the ACLU (atheist communist legal association) sued Judge Moore for refusing to destroy a display of the Ten Commandments at the court where he was.

I won't comment on what has been in the news, however, I would like to show you a poem that Mr. Moore wrote---- good insite to the heart of this man.

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

America the Beautiful, or so you used to be.

Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm gald they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand,

Oh, sweet land of liberty, your house in on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine,

Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away

From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray.

So many worldly preachers tell lies about our Rock,

Saying God is going broke so they can fleece the flock.

We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown.

When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,

Appointing Godless Judges who throw reason out the door.

Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,

But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum?

How much longer will He wait before His judgement comes?

How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide?

What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;

Seek His Holy face and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven and forgive us of our sins,

He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful, if you don't then you will see,

A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.

Judge Roy Moore

Lowell

I have no problem with the 10 Cs in a courthouse but if Judge Moore thought it was the right thing to do how come he had the statue snuck in in the middle of the night in a plywood box?

Gosh Bill, you will have to ask Judge Moore that, don't expect to get the truth except from the horses mouth.

Did he say he sneaked it in that way or the news media?

Yours,

Jay

In?... I thought it was out in the courtyard in front of the courthouse.

I'm not a religious person. I just don't have a problem with religious people expressing their religion as long as they don't have a problem with my not paying them any attention.

bill, you can't exactly sneak in a 5000+ lb statue into a building. You need heavy equipment to move it. I'm not the most holy of them all, but I still believe in the 10 commandment as a good way to guide my life. If more were concerned about right and wrong, we wouldn't have so many crooks in washington and every where else.

Morph.

What happened?

Ok, so a judge decides he would feel vindicated by moving his version of the ten comandments into a courthouse. Ok, fine, along with his, we could bring in the Jewish verision, the Catholic version, and every other version or comandment out there from every faith. Again someone who is tired of being a judge decides to go for a career change to politician. Now we have people with nothing better to do crying and praying in front of the courthouse, weirdos. :D Hero? No, just a sensationalist.

Looked like they had no problem moving it out with just a prybar, some 2x4 blocks and a hand pallet jack.

Now I don't usually go for this kind of thread and may get flamed to charcoal but this kind of stuff really chaps my hide. I am not an ACLU fan nor am I an atheist, which by the way is fine if that is your thing. I have not closely followed the stories in the media. By the way who paid for this statue, installation and removal? Hopefully the Judge and not the taxpayers at least if he did this secretely. I have no problem with religion, any religion. If you want to worship whoever/whatever and those are your convictions that is fine. Living by the Commandants is a good thing to do if that is your pleasure. One of the big reasons for the founding of this country was religious persecution. And that is why separation of church and state is such a big deal. The government should not be or appear to be biased in regards to religion. Ones particular beliefs are one way of thinking but not the only way. And though a statue here or there seems like no big deal but where does it end and whose belief system do we use? Just think of the Taliban running your government or any of the other various religious zealot groups. Now I am not saying Judge Moore is a terrorist or radical in anyway, he probably did what he thought was right in his mind knowing that it was wrong by law, especially being a Judge. This makes me think his ability to judge is in question since he is willing to make such indiscretions with the Constitution. I liked the Judges poem and it smacks with truth. However there were a few lines that I do not agree with the biggest one being the godless judges. Judges can be religious all they want but they better leave it at the doorsteps of the courthouse. They are there to interpet the law as written not espouse their personal religious beliefs into it. I suppose this is one of the pitfalls (that may be a poor word choice) of living in a free and democratic society we have to deal with everyones different views and opinions whether they are President, Judge, working class person, rich or poor. Damn, isn't this country great.

A lot of folks don't realize that the original intention of separation of church and state isn't to keep religion out of the government but rather to keep the government out of religion.

When Moore brought the 10 Cs into the state house he was really conducting a harmless act, the government could use a bit more religion. If Bush hadn't borne false witness against Iraq that whole fiasco could have been avoided.

The Supreme Court could very well overthrow the rulings in Alabama, but that would mean that it's ok for every crackpot religion in the world to install statues in the courthouse and they legally should be allowed equal time.

Is that what everybody really wants?

The foundation of this great Country's laws and Constitution was the Bible and the philosophy of great men based on a moral code derived from their belief in God.

The Bible as a whole is NOT a Christian book. "They were called Christians first at Antioch"

The Old Testament is a history of the Jewish nation with prophecies concerning the Messiah, Jesus Christ, Our Saviour. The Jews were referred to as the chosen wife of God the Father and was to be the light house to a blind and dark world. They failed their calling.

The New Testament is the Good News that revealed the Messiah as the foundation of His Church. The Pauline Epistles reveal the growth of that Church as it spread into Europe and Asia. Luke, Peter, James, and John contributed life changing scriptures that holds man to a higher standard.

The Revelation reveals the Coming, Conquering King - Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The underlying theme of both the Old Testament and New Testament is REDEMPTION.

Jesus Christ said that their are TWO great commandments. That you love the Lord God with all your heart and soul, and you love your neighbor as yourself.

Judge Moore could have reduced the Ten Commandments to two and saved some weight and portability.

The Founding Fathers did not want the United States to be controlled by a religion as it's government. The "Church" in Europe controlled the Kings and could have them removed, etc. Therefore the Separation of Church and State in our Constitution. Neither did they want the government to control any religion - the reason there are hundreds of different religions in the USA. Saudi Arabia has one - Islam. The only mideastern country that claims 100% Muslim.

We have freedom of religion. I support all of you making your own choice. Just be sure and choose wisely.

I would be very surprised if the Ten Commandments being on display in a court house is the most pressing matter in Alabama. Why must they waste so much time and money on such silly things.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that the Ten Commandments are silly, but it seems that there are more pressing things that need attention. Those that want them there don't need them there. Those that need them there won't pay any attention to them. If he is so passionate about the Ten Commandments, he should have them tattooed on his forehead for all to see.

AThompson

Agreed, 100%. IMHO, Justice Moore has found a way to get his name in lights, not unlike Jim Bakker or Oral Roberts. This wasn't about the Ten Commandments, else why'd he put them there under cover of darkness, with a video crew along? They're selling the video of the installation of the thing. I believe (and I've been wrong before) that, if Justice Moore really wanted to do this right, he would've done this out in the open, instead of sneaking the rock in at night. He would've gotten the agreement of his Associate Justices, and he would've worked out the constitutionality beforehand - unfortunately for him, that's not possible.

Roy Moore not the real issue

Hey, I got a novel idea.

Let's take ALL reference of God out of our Government, including the laws that were founded on the 613 precepts of the Mosiac Law. - You know like Murder, Sodomy, Beastuality, Sodomy, and the like. All of these are what our society seems to want so lets let them have it. There are too many restrictions and too much mention of God.

The Pledge of Allegience must go,-- you know "One nation under God" type stuff.

Our Money definetly has to be changed, what were our founding fathers thinking. "In God we Trust" -how ignorant is that!!! Guess they didn't know about seperation of Church and State.

Founding Songs also need to be dumped. Battle Hymn of the Republic, (No republic any more anyway), America the Beautiful, I know there are more but I can't think of any right now.

Congress should have known better than to print Bibles and put them in Schools when this country was founded, remember seperation of church and state, boys.

And while their at it No More Prayers to the Christian God this country was founded on. Haven't they seen MTV and other "hip and with it shows," they should know how politically incorrect prayer is to any session they have.

Oh, and on that note any president should not have prayer by anyone that believes in The God of the Bible at the innaguration. Shame on them-- this offends Communists, Muslims and atheists.

All States should have to remove any statements in their flags or mottos. Here in Colorado, our STUPID leaders were so dumb that they put in Latin, the phrase on our state emblem "Nothing without God". Can you believe that!!! - Again the God of the Bible. Wow, how offensive.

There must be many more that others of you can think of.

It's a crying shame of how many things in the country relate to the Bible's God.

We need to eradicate all of them right now. It is terrible to see a manger scene at Christmas. Oops, we need to take Christ out of that Word and make it,--- ummmmm, I know-- Xmas. There, no offense. That will help merchandising and the economy.

The next thing is all of those Christian type churches on the corners of many streets, we need to change their agenda to be that of money grubbing and modern day events, -- lets get rock-n-roll music and committees in there, and absolutely no Biblical teaching of morals or of Gods laws. What has he got to do with it anyway?

Once we get this done we will have a -----great society where anything goes. We can do our thing,------ it's up to us to expand our humanity to the next level without any notion of that archaic God and his laws.

Just think of it---------- No God!!! We will be our own gods. Wow.

Here is just a sample of the ignorance of the Bible.

Psalm 9:17 "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. "

How silly, this is hate language and needs to be outlawed.

Lowell
