Competition truck and tractor pull in wauseon,OH

Competition Union Grove, WI

For everyone who has been following the previous thread on this - I talked to the owner of the venue today(agua dulce airpark), and he has decided that he would rather change the date of the pull, but he is very interested in hosting the event. Apparently he just feels he has his hands full as it is with the 4th of july celebration, and is afraid adding the sled pull to it would just be too much. Instead he has proposed doing it toward the end of the summer sometime. He always has events going on there so we will still incorporate the pull with something else going on. And he said he would help promote it then as well. At sometime toward the end of summer he has some kind of a car show with something else, he said that would be a good time to do it. He offered up the stretch of dirt between the two runways for the pull, so we will have plenty of room.

I am a little bummed because I am anxious to pull something off, but in reality this will work a little better. It will give me more time to plan and set everything up. I already have some sponsors interested so I think I can make it work. Since I have more time I think I will turn it in to a full blown rally with show and shine and other events.

Start throwing out some dates that you guys are interested in, although the guy with the venue may already have some ideas. But I can certainly run some times by him. I am planning to get the local TDR chapter(Diesels in The Desert) involved to help make this a good size event.

So. . . you guys still interested? Hopefully more can makeit now with more notice and not being on the 4th.

Thanks-

Craig

Craig- there was some limited interest within my Rattlers' group, I think the problem was just bad timing (the 4th). Keep me informed on the date- the end of summer might just work out better for all of us. Out of more than 100 members in our group I'm sure I can get some to come play in the dirt:D .

sounds good guys, I will keep everyone posted on what dates we turn up. Hopefully it will work out better for everyone.

Craig

Sounds great to me Craig! That will give me some more time to apply more bombing to the engine.

But I will be there and I will relay the message to others that the date has been changed.

Joe

It will be after the 20th of July. I'm guessing sometime in september maybe. If there is anything already planned for september let me know, I dont' want to do anything that would take away from this or any other event. Either way, I am working on it. I will rrun a date by everyone ASAP.

Craig

Sept. --the last weekend would be good--there's usually a very good pull in Clements around the middle of the month, but nothing has been posted on it yet--I'll see if I can get a date---chris

Yeah,

Get a date Chris, I was considering the 18th of September. If not then would have to be maybe 1st weekend of Sept. or 1st weekend of Oct. - thats getting pretty close to Tulare though. I can't do Sept. 11, or 25th. Whats up with Clements?

Craig

UPDATE

OK,

The 18th of september is looking to be a possibility on my end. I'm just clearing up permit info for vendors with the airpark. The airpark is talking about doing a kind of hot rod car show along with our event with some live music and other things. That will get more people through the gates for sure. I have some vendors who are definaitely interested and I'm thinking we will have a show and shine and maybe some raffles and other rally type events.

So let me know what you guys think about that date - speak up now. I need to get this locked down. And I'm open to other ideas for the event too. As soon as I get a chance to meet with the local TDR chapter, I will have an idea how much they want to get involved. Should be good.

Thanks.

There is going to be a pull in Tulare on the 1st weekend in Oct. ?? Also, where is Clements and is that a pull event as well?

Craig, I am definately good for the 18th of Sept. Any other date would be good too, but inform us if a changed date is going to happen again. :D

Joe,

Tulare is a sled pull event along with other things. It takes place somewhere in the beginning to middle of October, so I dont' want to be too close to that - its one of the bigger pulls of the year out here. Clements is a pull event as well but I don't know much about it and there doesn't appear to be a date set yet. The 18th is not set in stone for the Agua Dulce event yet, I'm still sort of feeling that date out.

Craig

Clements is a pull--a good one, but pre lim info is it may not happen--still waiting to get the final word--so if it doesn't happen this would be a go for many guys---I'll keep ya'll posted--chris

Let me know as soon as you figure it out Chris. I really want to lock down a date. Assuming I get the vendor deal handled, the 18th will be a go on my end. What day would Clements be on if it happened?

Craig

Hey Chris, or anyone else. Any word on the Clements pull? Do we know if and when it is happening.

I want to make sure that Sept. 18 would be a good date for the So Cal pull.

Thanks,

Craig

Clements is not happening, so besides that possibly being the last weekend of zone A deer hunting there's nothing else planned--chris

Thanks Chris,

I'm working on tying up all the loose ends on this deal then. I will keep everyone posted. Everyone has to make this one, a good chance to show everyone in so cal whats really going on.

Thanks.

Craig

Craig,Is there any chance you can talk them into letting us race on the air strip?A 1/4 Mile would be fun for those that don't want to pull.

Hey Mike,

I thought about that, problem is I think the airstrip remains open for aircraft during the event. I'm afraid they may be a little nervous about 8,000 lb. diesel trucks running 100 plus mph down the strip, but I am going to run it by them. How does that date sound to you Mike?
