Jump starting?

How do you jump start another car/truck with a cummins? Anything special?

How do you hook up the cables? Thanks

There should be a section in the owners manual on it, if memory serves me correctly.

nothing special in the way the jumpers are hooked up. but the potential electrical surge that can occur from the other car's alternator can fry all your computers/electronics. same reason why it is recomemded to disconnect batteries before welding on a vehicle. so jump start at your own risk

It's also a good idea to turn off your truck before the dead vehicle tries to start their ingine.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on my first post. What I meant, was how would I jump another vehicle with a low battery?

The Dodge owner's Manual tells how I would jump one of my bad batteries using a good booster outside the Ram, but not how to render assistance to somebody else.

Would it matter which battery? And I'm guessing that's it would be the same as any other vehicle, just that there are two to choose from... Thanks

Go out and buy yourself a good JUMP STARTER, you know one of those battery pack boosters a good one will run you around $70-80 at an auto parts store. I keep one in my truck and have come to many a rescue, your trucks computer will thank you in the long run. Plus if you are the one in need of a jump you can help yourself.
