those are the symptoms.

about 50k mi ago i replaced the rotors and pads. it doesn't pull right now. when it does pull, i do the "cram the brakes on in reverse" a dozen or so times and it straightens right up.....

it seems these are the symptoms of bad rotors. could it be something else? i really don't want to have to put new rotors on after only 50k miles...

could it be the caliper(s) sticking?

i don't haul anything (worth noting) with the truck.....

comments would be appreciated as i will take it in in the am to have it checked out... ...

thanks.

scott.

Sounds like you need to check the rear brakes. They are the ones that adjust when in reverse, not the front ones.

When you say it pulls to the right, does it try to pull the steering wheel as well?

Also, 50 K on front pads may mean they are worn out.

Jumping and shaking

I had a 92 that experienced what you describe, the first time it turned out to be warped rotors. Having them turned seemed to cure the problem. However, within 25,000 to 30,000 miles the problem returned. I just sold the truck without fixing the problem this time but made sure the new owner was aware of the problem before he bought it.

I had begun to wonder if the replacement pads were to hard and caused to much heat buildup during braking. I am no expert but I had no such problem with the OEM pads but the problem only occurred after putting on lifetime guarantee replacement pads. Then again it could be that I rode them to long or to hard at some time and overheated the rotors. Good luck with finding the problem.
