Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) jumping in and out of gear

the truck only dies this before the convertor locks up, it starts to lock up and imediately unlocks, then after a couple seconds it locks up. it shifts all other gears fine. and once the convertor is locked it stays locked.

I reset the apps last nihgt, (left the batteries unhooked for probably an hour) and I set the tps when i reconnected it. no real difference.

any ideas?

You can try the cheap fix.

Wrap the ground from battery to alternator with foil then tape.

If that doesn't work call DTT and buy a noise filter from them.

which one is the ground wire?

on my 02 I have a blue and a green wire going to the small plug, and a big mombo wire going to the stud with nut and snap cap.
