I have a 02 nv 5600 ho that has about 165000 on it. It occasionally will jump out of gear in reverse and low. Wondering is anyone has had this problem and determined the cause..
Probably time for a rebuild. Usually people run the wrong lube in the 5600's, it ruins the synchros. You can pull the PTO cover off and check the bottom of the case for debris.
Thanks for the help. Kinda figured that may be the problem.Fixing to change the rear main seal and a clutch change, guess I will rebuild the transmission at the same time
The parts are fairly cheap, it’s the labor that gets you. I have a shop close to me that charges 650 labor. That is with me providing 500 in parts (bearing/synchro kit, small parts kit, upgraded synchro springs, new input shaft). Still a lot cheaper than 2500 with 1500 core charge.
