So i smoked my TC the other day, :( and as i understand it, the tc is the strongest componet of your auto transmission, and that it is due to internal leakage of the transmission itself. So i've decided to bite the bullet and order a dtt transmission. Some one told me that if you do that then your fuel milage plumits and the driveability of the truck plumits as well. I dont mind hard shifts and that kind of thing, but i do a lot of driving, as well as towing. So for all of you with a dtt full upgrade transmission, give me your $. 02 worth of advice about it. Thank you so much!!!

I had mine done at 20k before I really started to tow with it. Full DTT 89%. LOVE it! 13k 5er. Also have Smart Controller and a remote USG e-brake.

Currently 45k, not a whimper anywhere anytime.

I've got 40K or so on mine now... . the only reason fuel mileage may be affected is because I can't keep my foot off the throttle... love that feelin' of the power gettin' to the ground!

Well I don't know where you got your info. But I'm here to tell you that my DTT transmission was the best $$ I spent on my truck. I tow a 12,000lb 5vr & get 12mpg. When running mty I get 21mpg if I don't hot rod the truck. Bill & the crew know how to make your stock transmission to where you will love the way it shifts & gets the power to the ground.

Got my full DTT with 89H TC a few weeks ago. Billet input and 3rd gear cage, and DTT Smart Controller, Banks brake is still in garage, waiting for the Banks 4" intermediate pipe. Can not keep the smile off my face. I had DTT install DD1 Jammers and Comp in EZ mode at the same time. Mileage towing a 11. 25K 5er is up a bit, and mileage around tow is better if I do not put my 12. 5 shoe into the turbo. Towing at 18. 25K combined, I now stay in OD on the freeway all the time. With the better the transmission, mild injectors and the Comp (EZ Mode) I now have power in OD.

I now have a truck the way DC should have built it. Punched it onto the freeway the other day and was doing 80 at the bottom of the on ramp. Oo.

Best thing you can do to an auto truck is the DTT trans.

It helped my mileage if it did anything. And probably the last trans you will worry about. It is a very solid trans.

Drivability improves. Dependability improves.

Fill out you sig.

KKlingbeil,

Whoever told you those things was full of crap! In my opinion DTT makes the best transmissions available. You gas mileage will probably improve due to the more efficient TC and no more slipping clutches. Drivability will be much improved as well. I can assure you that Bill K. and his gang will take very good care of you.

Thanks....

This is what i was hoping to hear!!!!! I didn't think there was any way that it was true, beings everyone on here that has power inhancement products with an auto transmission has a dtt transmission. I will be ordering mine tomorrow. Thanks so much for all the great info!!!!

I hope to some day see how my truck feals with a DTT trany in it . I want to get one with a Billet input shaft so i can run a E-brake if i choose later on. I hope Santa is listening :-laf

KKlingbeil,

You won't be sorry. I've only got 6000 miles on mine since last April and I'm very happy with my DTT trans. My wife thought I was crazy doing the trans. on a truck with only 14,000 miles on it, but it's the best upgrade I've done. The drivability is way better and if I keep my foot out of it the milage is up about 1. 5 mpg over stock.

Mike

Well,

I hope i have the same luck as most of you guys. I'm not getting a complete trans but rebuilding mine with DTT parts. TC,VB, and some other parts. The truck should be done tonight or tommorrow, I'm looking forward to see how much different it feels.

Santa is listening, but how can he haul all those DTT trannys for eneryone who wants one?

You know, Rudolph may still have a red nose, but I bet he has gray hair. Think about it.

Merry Christmas to you all!

I heard a rumor that Santa is running a full DTT transmission in the his Sled. Rumor also is that it has a 93 percent TC and full billets. Because of the 93 percent TC, he does not stop much anymore, and must keep moving most of the time. I really think he should have gotten a 89H, but hey that is between Bill and him, right? Just remember to sneak out and drink the milk and eat the cookies, so the little ones think Santa still does that. SNOKING

Well,

Just got my truck back with the new trans with DTT upgrades. Wow ! I wish that I didn't wait 65k to have this done. Nice firm shifts, truck pulls harder ... . just awesome.

A couple of questions though , Just before coming to a stop I can feel it kick down into first , just slightly. Nothing major just different than stock. Also when being really light on the throttle from a stop it shifts into second pretty quick. Under normal accelaration the shifts are around 1800.

Complete?

The $3500 shown on the DTT website for their trans, is that complete from TC to x-case adapter? Do you need to add anything else to get a complete price?

My good friend has a '00 quad 4x4 and a new 27' ccamper. He wants to bomb with me when I start this summer, so I'm doing a bit of research for him. Oo.

thanks!

That also includes the standard Magtec pan, but not the billet input, billet 3 gear cage or billet output shaft. Those are extra. If one is going to have an exhaust brake, then the billet input is required. I also got the 3 gear cage, I believe heavy towing will wear out the standard one. As always Call Bill. SNOKING

I am with Bob Wagner, I have (had) one of the first 20 TC's Bill sold to the public and it was the single best thing I ever did to my truck. I have insert the "had" because I have since upgradded the transmission a second time and got a new TC when I did that.

You might ask why I had to up date again, well the first time I talke to bill I told him I was going to run RV275 injectors and a Power Edge box (first box edge ever made, all fuel-no timing). He built the transmission for that. Then I put in the DD3's and the Drag Comp, transmission held it fine too but I wanted to make sure. I got everyting except the billet shafts and could not be happier.

Congrats on your new transmission and may you have many miles of smiles.
