Hello all.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Joined the board about a week or so ago and have been busy researching and gaining quite a plethora of knowledge in such a short time.

I am a first time Diesel owner, but not new to diesels. Especially Cummins. I grew up with my father owning a construction business and having his share of Cummins medium and heavy duty trucks.

My current vehicle, which I purchased as a daily driver and tow vehicle for monthly race ventures, was purchased from the original owner and is currently listed in my sig. I have lots of BOMBs planned for it, but before I do anything else to it I am awaiting my TST KDP kit and am saving for a DTT trans. Then bring on the BOMBs. So far I've only had the truck long enough to complete my current mods and do an oil change and fuel filter change. It pays to be a parts man as well as have many friends in the industry.

I just wanted to say hello and complement everyone on one of the most technical, friendly and mature sites I've been apart of. It will be nice to continue researching and chatting with everyone on here.

Hello, looks like you've scored a nice truck and have a sound plan... . we'll help provide you with lots of opportunity to utilize those old contacts and, the new ones you'll make here to improve your rig.

BOMBS AWAY

Good luck, RJR

Welcome aboard. We could use another old 95 12 valve. ;) Its a good truck, just needs alot of TLC. Check to see if the recalls have been completed on it. There was a good post yesterday where you can check the staus of the recalls by plugging in your VIN #. Pretty neat. I still have to have my throttle cable checked . I just hate to let some smuck work on it. It might not come back the same if ya know what I mean. Enjoy the TDR:D

Welcome aboard!! One quick word of advice, when you have a problem with your rig, always, always check here first for help or info. Had I remembered these words I would have saved about $2000 on a clutch and transmission matter. But more on that later.

Again, welcome to the group.

Welcome to TDRland. What's with your "Handle", aka username? Looks like an esoteric chemical compound to me. All you need to add is some O2 and it might start breathing.

Thanks for the welcome. I saw that post on the recall info. The only thing I need done is the coil spring tower reinforcement. The original (previous) owner had everything else completed.

As far as my "handle" goes it's just a crude basis of straight-chain hydrocarbons.

"... crude basis of straight-chain hydrocarbons. " Any chance the Cummins will run on this?

We're all here to help anytime. It's what we live for.

Thanks. I paid $6k for the truck.

Well sure the Cummins will run on it, provided the you have the correct fractions of nonane, cetane, decane, etc... The compounds would be in the C9-C12 range and would follow the straight-chain of HC i. e. my "handle". As I'm sure you are well aware most all chemical fuels such as gas, diesel, kerosene etc... are all made of chemical compounds/fractions coming from crude oil. Just on a different level of the scale. You'd be amazed at what you can pick up on the history channel.

;)

Picked it up with 164K on the clock. All service work completed at local Dodge/Cummins as well as rebuilt trans at 121K. Hopefully this will last till DTT. :knocks on wood:

Welcome aboard! Look around for your local chapter and you'll be BOMB's away very quickly! :D Trust me it's an addiction!

It starts like this... add guages... . slide stock plate full forward... .

Open wallet... give money to Piers... install parts... repeat till broke, divorced or single.
