on the 48re auto there is a line pressure screw on the valve body, how much of a turn counter clock wise does it take to add 10 psi, the reason is that we got wades transmission in and all was well, until barry @ nadp called and says that you have a (special ) valve body and it is not adjusted. he asked us to turn it 2 turns counterclock wise to get in the ball park, well that was done and all buttoned up and shifts are dead on 1-2,@ 3100rpm but 3rd is waiting until 3600rpm to shift into lock up(4th). and all the shifts are notably soft. this leads me to belive that i need more line pressure and would like to know how much is needed for appox 10 psi increments. wont get to fix it until tuesday or so, got to drain all the fluid ( amsoil )and drop the pan---- for a simple adjustment, we are shooting for 90+psi @ idle and at least 170 psi 2 wot.

other than that the truck runs great, we replaced the injectors and new push tubes went in and we also got to put a duel feed rail line on as well----lots of cool stuff. hopefully we will be busting some good times at the track shortly Oo.

I wanted more firm shifts from my ats vb and I turned the screw 2 full turns and went from 68psi/110psi to 74/122. there was not enough screw for 90/170 but ats vb and trans are not known for high line pressure. to get that high I would need diffrent spring?? might want to ask the guy who put it together. ;) did firm up my shifts anyway.

im just seeing what you guys are doing for line pressure adjustments. and what increments each counter clockwise turn is. i fell the more i know the better this trans will do. i dont want to have to replace another :D

I will go back and look at my notes . I done a test on the test stands in the plant. but I cannot remember off the top of my head  .

update--------finally got around to getting the line pressure reading, when we first got it the spring was totally loose and we turnded it counter clock wise 2 turns. our reading is now 70-75 psi @ idle. that would explain the soft shifting and overreved shift points---3500-3600 rpm. so we will have to turn that little guy out another 2 turns or so to be @ 90 psi ( hopefully). any inpuy would be helpful.
