When my engine is cold it idles around 800 RPM, when I drive for a while and get it hot, right off the highway in neutral going down off ramp it will idle below 500 RPM. I first noticed this after I dropped the idle from 900 RPM-800 RPM. it holds steady around 500RPM and does not want to die. I was just wondering what might cause this. I have a 3K GSK. I just wonder if its my oil changing viscosity. I run Amsoil 15W-40 Marine oil.

sounds like you have your GSK springs set wrong, re-set them and then re-adjust the idle. What method did you use, the measure method or the click?

Also I'd check the fuel pressure.

NHays,

My truck acts almost identical to what you describe. I run a 3k gsk also. I am interested to see the responses to your post. I just changed injectors this morning Oo. but haven't driven it long enough to see if the injector swap will affect this.

I used te click method, I think they are set to tight because it does a sort of soft jump to 1500RPM, I cannot get it to stay at a lower RPM for very long with my foot. But it happens really slowly. I also don't thing if fuels all the way to 3200. I will reset springs today and see what happens.

I readjusted the srings. My idle went way down, so I brought it back up around 900rpm. Throttle pedal is alot stiffer and i have very nice idle control. however, now i have a hickup in power around 2600-3000rpm. I think I need to bump my timing a little. I will drive around for a few days and see if idle does weird things.

Forgot to mention I have MUCH better throttle responce, smooth power instead of little power, then a stiff surge and then, just power. also I run that Super B turbo and it seems to like it better.
