I just got back from a local Dodge dealer after buying a rear wheel speed sensor. The parts guy quoted me 44 dollars. I asked him if that was retail. He said yes. I then asked if he could cut me any off that. He said how about 31 dollars. I said deal.

I dont know if all dealers will do that but its nice to know that if you ask you might get a discount.

Asking for a discount

It only hurts if your afraid of the word NO. It's amazing how many (not just car parts) places will give a discount if asked.

I recently purchased a finishing nailer and did not want to visit the big (Home Depot) store and the higher priced guys (Western Tool) matched their price plus threw in $27 worth the nails.

The local Dodge parts guy won't give me a discount ever since I laughed and walked out when he tried to sell me the $56 fuel filter:rolleyes:

Another tip is to send your wife (discounts are in direct relation to her looks;) )

Before I learned here I was quoted $11. 50 ea. for oil pan/plug gaskets at the stealer..... three seconds of deer in the headlight stare got the price down to $6. 50. Bought two just to be nice. They're ~$3. 50 ea. at Cummins.
