Tires in Alaska?

Anyone headed from CO to Chico, CA area?

Just got back from a nostalgic trip to some parks that I haven't been to since '78... . I have the RV rig now so I took my parents and 2 mini shnauzers. Went to Moab area, Monument valley, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Az. , and then I went to my 20th High school reunion. . Boy!. . how people change :D Glad I have my hair!!

The Raptor trailer I bought had problems with insulation in the floor over the storage area... . The Generator heat made the compartment hot and then the fllor of the trailer was hot so the A/C was not effective. . (see piics below)

This is Looking glass rock south of Moab. was able to park here and as you can see the truck is on a angle. Was able to level the trailer though...

Dad and I ride Quads out here and we rode some trails and did almost 100 miles in 3 days...

Hard to see in this Panoramic pic, this is Needles overlook in canyonlands national park. Rode 25 miles on the quad to see this. .

Monument Valley in the morning... . This is "Mitten Butte"

Now, after the 110 degree in Monument valley, dry camping in a CG, Generator heat, had to do something... . 2" foam with silver backing makes R-10..... Bought 2 sheets of it to line the floor of the RV. .

This is a view of a side wall in the cabinet, the inner wall you see is below the toilet, and in front of the wall for the livingroom... . Heat of the generator goes right in..... So now the floor is cool when the generator is running...

Don't have a pic of it but I also used panels of the foam in the pantry to ward off the fridge heat from the vent and the cabinet above the fridge... much better... .

So on to Grand Canyon where I too LOTS of pics... . caught a Condor in flight, came within 30 ft of me on a lookout point... flew right past looking for thermals... .

Then we went to San Diego to visit my uncle and to go to my 20th reunion... Had a great time then we boogied home... . did 2348 miles and it cost $520 for Fuel. Averaged about 10 mpg and the fuel cost was between 2. 45 and 2. 58/gal.

Nice pics Eric. Looks like you seen some beautiful country. We were at the Grand Canyon in June on our way home from California. Seen 112 deg. coming through Needles.

I need to get my pics scanned in and posted!

It's still a little to hot down around that area for me. I'll be back down there later in the year to do some jeeping and biking. Great write up :D:D
