We Took our two kids up to the Great Wolf Lodge this weekend to see what it is all about. We stayed overnight and you have access to the waterpark (indoors, with one big pool outside) before check in, and after check out.
The park has many features including large water roller coaster deals, a wave pool (our favorite), two irregular pools, one with a few slides and assorted fountians and such spewing water everywhere, and a tremendous swiss family robinson treehouse deal with water features all over it in the center of it all. There is a huge bucket- must be 300 gallons that fills and tips all over this treehouse. There was also a lazy river and lots of lounge chairs and table/ chairs all over the place and about 3 places to buy snacks and kid or adult drinks. Keep in mind this is all indoors under a nice post and beam style gable roof.
I spent much of the time thinking about the pumps, machinery, water quality managment, and energy use going on there!
The hotel part was nice, with everything having a very rustic Cabela's store feel with shaved timber all over the place. There are a variety of room types including timber bunks for the kids. Ours was double queens with a tv and a 3/4 partition and a couch, fireplace, and another TV over the fireplace.
The rates werent too bad, and include admission to the waterpark. You can't just visit the waterpark, you have to take a room too. There are lots of activites to do besides the water fun and there are 2 or 3 places to eat. One thing is certian, they charge for their services! They make it easy though. You are given an imbedded wristband that opens your room door, and can be used to spend spend spend! They make it real easy.
We all had a great time, but came back with a light wallet.
