I just did my first change of the differential fluid while i was on vaction at the in-laws in Lake Charles, Louisiana... . I filled it with Amsoil Series 2000 75-90..... Around town it was fine no chatter or anything... ... I did not add any friction modifier. I had read that most of you guys did not need to add any. Well yesterday, i drove home, about 425 miles just west of San Antonio. When i got close to the house, i could hear some noise from the back end when i would make small turns... ..... So this morning, i pulled out the plug on the diff cover just to make sure i had enough in there..... looked good. So i just drove it around the neighborhood a bit to see if i could hear anything..... nothing to report. Makes me wonder if it only happens once the rear end heats up... ... Should i add some modifier? I will drive it to work tonight to see if anymore noise arises... ...

After changing the fluid, did you do any figure eights at all?

Try finding a parking lot and doing some figure eights to see if that will cure your noise for now. If not then yes you will need to add modifier.

Yes it will work in the fluid into the clutch paks so to speak. Not garenteed to work or cure your problem, but worth a shot and free.
