Okay, so I've been on this forum before, several years ago, but here I am again... I just bought a truck (see sig) and I was just curious if some of you could help me guess what has been done to my truck. As you can see from the sig, it has 4" straight pipe, AFE intake, and it looks like the pump has been in to. The previous owner installed a pyro (post turbo), but no boost gauge. I hooked a gauge up temporarily and I can get 36 PSI empty, it looks like it's wastegated there, won't go any higher, but gets there quick. Also has practically nothing below about 1300 RPM, then it takes off. Also, I think my EGT is fairly low, max about 700 post turbo.

So anyways, does anyone have any guesses as to if it has a different plate? And which one?

Thanks for the help. Oo.

I was pretty sure it was, but I went and checked again, and yep, it's an HX-35.

There's also some sort of vacuum valve looks like mounted on my intake horn, says "numatics" on it, has two wires running into it, and one vacuum hose in, one hose that goes over to what looks like a little filter or something. There is another hose and an 1/8 plastic hose that go into a loom and down to my trans, and there's some sort of solenoid or cylinder thing that says "BD" on it? Does anyone know what this does?

I just bought this truck 3 days ago and I appreciate the help...

btt?

anyone have any idea?

I guess I'll just have to take the AFC off and look. Maybe I'll be able to see a number or something on the plate.

Gubner springs and timing advance would help it get off the bottom end.

I'm thinkin.

While I'm thinkin... you just gotta get in there and sort the stuff out. BTDT and some folks just don't do things proper. ;)

MOVE the pyro for significant readings. Adjust the valve lash... oh, I'd better stop there. Most of all, ENJOY the new ride. :D

I guess I might have to do that, because it doesn't do much of anything at low RPM's but about 13-1500 and watch out!

I'm not sure if the timing has been advanced or not, if not, I want to advance it. As many other things as he's done to it, maybe he advanced the timing too? Also, the radiator support has been out, the paint's chipped off the heads, I wonder what for?

Are governor springs a big job?

I'm planning on moving the pyro, never have liked them pre-turbo, and I was also thinking about adjusting the valve lash...

And I'm trying my best to enjoy it! :D :D

Thanks for the suggestions...
