The funny thing is my truck had 4 springs stock, instead of 3. Could this be because its a EGR model? At first I thought it already had a 4k kit (It didn't fell like it). I talked to Piers and they said that some came stock with 4 springs. Well, I drove the truck after the install of the 3k springs and I was impressed. I didn't really improve my power. The power is now distributed over a wider range. :p

I wish I could say the same for me. The 3K GSK turned my truck into a dog. However Piers gave me suggestions on how to fix it, and will be attempting it this weekend. Thank goodness he stands behind his products.

I'm kind of anal. So, I followed the instructions to the letter. Not only did I count the clicks, I measured 10 times, just to make sure I had the right depht measurement. :p It was actually kind of easy.

GSK for auto

I was wondering how it would perform on a stock automatic. My 98 truck has 105K on the trans and I am a little uneasy about adding a plate until I beef the transmission. I think a few hundred more rpm would make a lot of difference, but I don't know if the transmission will stay locked up, etc. With the 3. 54 gear I could pull most hills in drive and maintain the speed limit on the interstates. I would rather not use the mystery switch since my wife drives it a good bit.

One of the nicest combo's you can do to a stock auto is a #10 plate, 3K' and bump the timing. The 10 plate has a nice fuel curve and when set properly it will bring the big power in later in the RPM' when the transmission pump speed is up so to save the stock auto, most folks think that there is any potential with a #10 yet it's probably the best plate they put out, at least the most versatile, if you want to change were the power comes in at just move the gov arm up or down a tad, I did a stock auto truck not long ago with this setup with the plate 3/4 forward and it made 275/697 in O/D on a dyno jet. I'm doing one next week but I'll put it in the stock position.
