Give us some more details, auto, mileage. etc. What are you going to be using it for? How much money do you have available for mods? 10K would be a good start. :D

Tom

Yes it is an auto, brand new off the dealer lot. Solid white, SLT. First mod already compleated, transfered my Sony CD player in from my Jeep. Oh and I hung up my radar dectector.

The best mod for my money is get the transmission fixed. You will be amazed at how much better your truck will perform with a good torque converter. Once you do that get gages and more power as you want. Most people add power mods ( I was one ) and learn the hard way when things start to slip. Do it right the first time.

There are a lot of TDR members in your part of the country, meet up with some of them and ride in their trucks.

Good luck, Tom

Congrats on the new truck!

#1: Install a fuel pressure gauge.

The lift pumps on these trucks are notorious for failing. If not for my fuel pressure gauge, I'd still be driving around with a dead pump (since the truck ran no different when the pump died).

Good luck!

Did you put you FP gauge under the hood or in the cab. I would like to just tap in real easy somewhere under the hood just so i can have the assurance.

Most people tap into the fuel lines using a tapped banjo bolt. Then you run a line from the tapped banjo to a fuel isolater or sending unit and that connects to the guage. You can also get a mechanical guage that attaches to the schrader valves in the fuel lines. The mechanical guages are usually only used once in a while to check FP. TDR member Briarhopper sells the mechanical guages.

Rip Rook has a pretty fast auto in the Portland area (but mine will beat his LOL). He also sells quite a few go fast goodies. His website is www.sourceautomotive.biz.

I went with a mechanical gauge in-cab. It goes into a tapped banjo bolt at the bottom of the filter canister. I used braided steel line.

Ditto on the guages, I have Boost, Pyro, and Fuel preasure on a 3 pillar with tweeter pillar mount. (see pics in readers rigs)

I did a 4" exhaust from Rip Rooks as mentioned above, Have 2 power boxes but I wouls recomend the Edge Comp box as it is 2 in 1 .

There was mention of the triple lock torqe converter that www.earthroamer.com did and he loves it. I have a 6 speed mnual and got a better clutch... .

There are a lot of dress up goodies that you can find and most of them are in www.genosgarage.com or others as you will find on this site.

On the Lift pump fiasco, I put in a pusher pump with a prefilter to keep the pumps clean. It has a separate water separator and fuel heater in the assembly. The pusher is a 7# pump at 100 GPH and it helps the front lift pump from working too hard. (see pics in Readers Rigs)

did the front and rear Mag-Hytec diff cover and you might want to check out the deep pan mag hytec for the trans. adds extra capacity for the fluid.

Hope your credit card isn't crying too bad right now, Mine did! lol

Have fun!

Eric

tow something!

I suggest you find something heavy to tow. My 99 really woke up after its first tow. Both power and MPG improved.

Hope you enjoy the new truck.
