Teach me 5'er/Goose Clearance...

Just got it installed last night finally. Have had it and the trailer for the past year. Now I can haul my dozer without borrowing my buddy's truck... as soon as my Max Brake comes in that is.

The B&W was a pretty easy install. It helps if you have an extra set of hands. No lifting of bed or removing of fuel tank, no drilling in frame, straight forward instructions, very nice fit and finish of materials. Took two of us about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish with several drink beverages in between, so you can call it a 2 hour job.

Posted a picture because I think all threads should have pictures regardless.

after a few hundred towing miles, get under there and check all the bolts. you will like the hitch, its really nice.

Yes, I wanted to pull it around empty and then recheck the bolts first, then after pulling it with a load recheck them again. Everything torqued down fine.

Thank,

Justin

It was $7,800 + TT&L I believe. Before options I think it was $5,000 or something like that.

Options I got were:

*(3) 7K axles that are all brake axles positioned at std. setting

*26' deck + 5' wood covered beavertail

*center pop-up ramp on rear for hauling hay

*5" taller gooseneck for lifted pickup truck

*treated floor

*toolbox

*16" crossmember spacing in lieu of std. 24"

*extra knee braces

*single pipe spool between every stake pocket on rub rails

*full painting underneath trailer (they never paint the inside of frames or crossmembers)

*aluminum wheels

*9 lights per side w/ 1 on front corner

It weighs 5,800#. I had them register it at 20,000# gross rating. They said they would rate it for whatever I wanted, but that was what I told them to rate it at. The only thing I really didn't do is have them add the torque tube underneather the "I" beam of the trailer. The steel they use has good "memory" and flexing does not cause issues, so I left it out of the option list. It hauls my 17,000# dozer with added 1,000# brush rake like a dream. I ordered it from Performance Manufacturing out of Mt. Pleasant which is ride down the road from me. Parker Performance Trailers Leading Trailer Manufacturer Mt. Pleasant, Texas Roy Parker is the owner there and I know that Redneck well enough that he builds a pretty dang good trailer. Ricky Baker who owns Big Tex is makes a good trailer too. I have pulled their trailers and they are nice. Actually Roy and Ricky use to be good buddys and shared a shop together back in the day which conflicts rose (I believe) and they branched off from one another. You also have in my area besides those 2 guys Diamond C trailers who I know the son, Jeffery Crab, but not the father. Also have Trail Master which Wesley McCollum owns. You have Top Hat too. Those are all in a 10 mile area. They have been building trailers since back in the early 80's. There are more too around here, but I don't know any of those guys. Mt. Pleasant is considered "Trail Capital of the World". When you run around that town you can see acres upon acres of utility trailers as far as the eye can see.
