I just got done installing a set of Isspro gauges, boost and egt. Started the truck up and the boost gauge reads 0 at idle. Is this normal? I won't get a chance to drive it until tomorrow, other obligations tonight. Thanks in advance.
Drove the truck to work this morning, now I see what you mean about no boost until there is a load. Man the EGT sure does climb fast! Now it's bombs away as soon as I get the fuel pump upgraded. I only have about 11. 8 psi at idle and 9. 8 at cruising altitude.
Normal for a diesel, but for a gasser no. I did not realize that a turbo on a gasser will actually draw the boost gauge negative until I looked at a friends dodge str4. Quite a difference in how boost works for a gasser. Oo.
