Just Got Home With My 01 Quad Cab

Just got back from Kentucky with my slightly abused 2001 3500 4X4 Quad Cab. And a couple of things I can tell you.



1st, a 3500 2nd gen ride is not much better than a W350 1st gen.

2nd, a Stock 24V Cummins has some serious turbo lag(My 91 Cummins you push the petal and it goes NOW)

3rd, 2nd generation trucks are way too quiet, can't here the Cummins to shift gears, got to keep an eye on the tach.

4th, My Crew Cab will blow the doors off this 2nd gen(but not for long )

So I am thinking why did I buy this thing ?:--)

New and improved!

Better body style! Higher powered engine! Stronger transmission! Plus the thrill of having a new toy.



It in some cases newer isn't that much better. My brother-in-law has a six month old 2002 model W250. He traded in a 120k 91 W250. He wishes he still had his 91. Over all he said the 91 still did what he wanted to do. Plus it was payed off.



His 91 sold the first day on the used lot. It was very clean.



If you came down US31 on your trip. I didn't hear you honk when you went by.
