I got my ham radio license about 1 month ago and have coming a yaesu Ft-8900 with a Comet UHV-4 antenna. Paided second day air UPS to Kodiak, AK and the stuff shipped on the 6th should be here today but it looks like it won't arrive until the 12th. last time i chose to ship via UPS. grr!!!

Anyhow, I need a bracket to mount the radio inside my truck. The radio is 5. 5 inches wide. I have seen a CB radio bracket in Geno's but it says it is 8 inches wide. My question: is that bracket adjustable? Will I be able to use it to mount my ham radio? I love the way it mounts without drilling holes and its location. Just don't want to spend $50+ for something that will not work for me.

thanks

contact member "Big Bob" I think he can fix you up.

I only make the CB/Ham Radio Mounts for the 3rd Gen's.

Bob Wagner makes the Brolin CB mount for the 2nd Gens. You'll want to get ahold of either Bob or Geno's for the 2nd Gen mounts. Bob supplies Geno's with the Brolin mounts.

thanks for the replies

thanks for the replies. Sent email to Bob Warner wondering if his mounts were adjustable for a 5. 5" wide radio. If not then I will have to look else where unless he can make me a special mount that will fit my radio but connect the identical way his normal mounts connect.

Radio Mount

I'm using one of Bob Wagners & it works great for my IC-2720 & my IC-V8000. I see your in a 98 so I'm sure it would work for you. I haven't seen Big Bobs mount but I'm sure it is "Top Shelf" as well. I can only speak to what I'm using. Good luck!
