Just got back from the KC Dyno Day. Ended up with 305 hp and 761 torque. Wasn't at the bottom of the heap, but pretty close. I was still happy with the results. Torque was higher than I expected. My HP curve was almost completely flat from 2000 rpm on up to 3k. Is this normal?

The gove spring will hold the fuel.

I'd be more concerned as to what kind of EGT readings the operator saw (if he even looked) to gain the figures on the spread sheet. I can nail my go peddle with out a load on the truck and burry the gauge. If I was to pull a load on a dyno it would be one of two things... ... .

A. run till it tops a safe operating temp , or

B. Run it @ WOT and never look back

What did the operator choose to do in your case?

GL

I can run my EGTs a lot higher than that on the road, I guess it's just easier to spin the dyno than it is to get down the road.

It's scary to think some guy will be pushing my truck to the edge and not know if he will use any percautions by looking at the gauge(s)

I'm guessing your operator only held it to WOT (1400°F) for a few seconds?????

I am going to have to install a different boost gauge... one that has the capacity of my engine prior to my run. The old 30# is no longer "fitting the bill"

I was standing right outside the door, as he was running the truck. He asked what RPMs I wanted to run to, and I told him 3000, but to back out if EGTs went much over 1400. Since my tach and pyro are so close together, he was able to watch both, but he told me just to reach in and tap him on the shoulder if I wanted him to back out of it at any time. I was apprehensive at first too, but a good experience, and it's good to finally know what it can do. EGTs were at almost 1400 for probably less than 4 seconds at a time, then allowed to cool to 350 or so before the next run.

Good job AJ! Now its just time for the B1 and ATS manifold, ported polished head, grind on that pdr fuel pin some more, HOT EDM'S:D:D Doing good for a stock turbo.

Scott, TiM be a good dyno location. Time for the 60psi boost gauge too. .

So how much can a new turbo add to the hp number? Say a PDR HX 35, or MAYBE a B1 quickspool? I know there's a lot of unburned fuel in there. What kind of jumps are you guys seeing when you add a turbo to a severely over-fueled truck?

AIR+FUEL=POWER. Sorry I can't help ya, but since you will have more air, there ya go, add air to your over-fueled truck get more power, how much, don't know that one... Find a medium/heavy duty truck junkyard or engine core seller and fine a CAT 3116, its turbo will have your B1 from what I've collected.
