I have the Boost and the EGT set but where should I have the transmission and rearend temps limits set at?

The transmission probe is in the stock location in the Magtech pan.

Also what is normal and what is high readings.

I have done a search.

FYI, transmission is at 110 degrees and the rear end is 130 degrees cruis'n down the highway.

I'm no auto transmission expert (hell, I nuked mine and then traded up to a stick), but I think I'd set the transmission warning at 200, maybe less. I seem to recall being told by a transmission guy that the goal is to keep the temp at or below 170 at all times, but that seems excessive.

As for rear end, the highest I've ever seen on my truck was 205, which was on the climb up the Grapevine going into or out of LA, weighing in around 20,000 lbs with my camper loaded and towing a car on the trailer. That's with a Mag-Hytech cover and Redline 90W-140 oil in the rear end.

I have my trans. temp. warning light set for 270 deg. F. (I have the sender in the "hot" replacement cooler line). If I still had it in my Mag-Hytec trans. pan I would set it at about 200-210 deg. F. (using Amsoil synthetic Universal ATF+4... Mag-Hytec DD trans. pan)

I have initially set my rear end temp. warning light at 250 deg. F. (using Amsoil synthetic Series 2000 75W-90 gear oil... Mag-Hytec diff. cover).

Hey Rob, I was a LONG TIME user of Red Line synthetics... don't you mean 80W-140? (instead of 90W-140) I tried their 75W-140NS gear oil... there is NO friction modifier until you add it! (BTW, NS = No Spin)
