Fun little quiz

Does anyone on TDR know if they need men and machines

I just went through the grid heater relay replacement repair. I followed the advise of others & ordered replacement relays from Allied Electronics in Ft. Worth, Tx. I ordered them Sun. & they shipped them Mon. via UPS, with the tracking information availability. According to the UPS link, I was supposed to receive them on that Fri. Well I didn't. :( According to UPS, there was a problem with my street address. So I contacted them right away, supplying them with the address. Do you think this would have solved the problem??

NOOOO!!! I received a phone call from them explaining the address issue & to call them back at his ph. #< which he never gave me!! To really tick me off, they sent me a post card in the mail with my correct address stating they would send the package back to Allied if I didn't go to them & pick it up because they couldn't read the street number!!

I have to give someone there credit, as they used that info to deliver my package almost 1 wk. later than expected. So, instead of replacing relays in 50 degree temps, I ended up doing this in 20 degree temps.

Thanks alot UPS!! #@$%! You WILL be hearing from me!!

i and everybody i work with despise ups, our daily parts shipment got changed from dhl to ups and went from getting there at 10:00-10:30am to 1:00-4:30pm or a day late and my personal favorite only receive half of the boxes and it's amazing how often the stuff i need desperately to finish a car is in the missing box

I missed the first delivery on a package last week which required a sig. The note left by the driver said he would deliver the next day after 2p. m. I raced home from work making it into my drive by 1:55 to find that second attempt was made at 1:05. The lady at the call center said the driver was doing great getting it there that early, I had to disagree. Needless to say in order to get my package required 30 more minutes on the phone with computers and useless "customer service" personel and a 60 minute drive out of my way to meet the driver that evening. This is the biggest, best delivery service in the world?

UPS has gone down hill fast,I build computers so I rely on good shipping and UPS isn't up to the task.

I try to go around having to use them,I prefer FEDEX,I have never had one problem with them in 4 years.

If you live in the stick like I do UPS is still king by a large margin! The local UPS driver know where you work, where you live, where your parent or in laws live, where he can leave a package if no one is home, by far the best! DHL on the other hand sucks! They have a real problem with packages disappearing at the okc terminal. The also and off to a independent delivery service for the final couple of hundred miles. I ordered a compter parts and specifically requested ups but Dell (who I think has slipped significantly but that is another story) shipped DHL. Well the package shows up in the back of a pickup with plenty of evidence that it had rolled and slid around in the back for the trip. I refused it! Another time a replacement monitor was shipped (Dell again) by DHL after specifically requesting UPS. The return tag says call this number for pickup, guess what DHL won't pick it up! So maybe in major cities DHL shines but not my neck of the woods!

I work part time for a local airport limo. service & have to find houses relying on just the st. adress. Sometimes it's spelled wrong, or the house # is wrong, but I contact the dispatcher & get there on time (mostly :-laf ). I know from experience some houses are hard to find. My house is easy to find by compairison. Plus, my home ph. # was on the box, you think they would call to save themselves an extra trip?? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Incompetent?? Lazy?? Stupid??? Or "D", all of the above??? DDDDDDDDDDD :-laf :-laf

I decided not to contact UPS about this poor service. I don't think it would do any good, and it would be a tremendous waste of my time, time better spent on the TDR!!! :D :D

Got Smoke, when is UPS cheaper than USPS?? I'm not trying to stir the pot, just wondering... I've always found USPS cheaper & more convenient.

My wife and I own a small business and occasionally need to have a package picked up at our house and sent to a client. 99% of the time UPS does not show up, when they do its too late to get shipped out of Alaska that day and that means the extra $$ spent on 2 day service is wasted. We have been telling out client who insisit on UPS that we can not guarentee 2 day delivery from AK because UPS can not pick up a package on time. Last week when the UPS guy did not show up by 10 Am, as they said they would we we scheduled the pick up, we called UPS and they had not record of our pick up in the system. Then about an hour later the UPS guy showed up and picked up our package. Ugh. I will tell you one thing UPS is getting good at, giving me refunds for packages that don't get there on time. If you do a 2 day service and its does not get there, call em and get your $$ back.

We have no problems with DHL or FedX. As a matter of fact Fed Ex is now or prefered shipper.

Re-read my post I said USPS is cheaper than UPS. My father works for USPS so you know what I use most of the time. ;)
