I just installed a Donaldson filter head and Donaldson p551000 water seperator filterbeteeen the tank and my lift pump. After the lift pump I have the OEM filter/seperator then between that and the cp3 I have a Donaldson 2 micron filter. Does anyone see a problem with having the big water Sep filter before the lift pump? This was just the easiest way to set it up but I can change it if i need to.

I see no reason to expect any problems with that arrangement. The big separator will basically eliminate the need for the stock one to do any work at all. Or, you're now double-protected.

I've never found any water in my fuel, either. I have 2 separators, and both have always contained only fuel.

Just in case, I suppose...

Remove the Filter between the factory Canister filter and the CP3. You have a choice to make listen to and expert on CR Injection Systems, Or the popular BS on the NET,My bank account awaits your decision. This is MY only comment on this thread, You are welcome to call any time to fine out why.

Please share your comments on a filter between OEM and the CP3. Why make posts that don't help and than request people to call you? Is it a sales pitch?? Once they call, you'll pressure them into buying something??

Fuel water seperators work better under suction than under pressure. So your placement is ideal.

Maybe the stock lift pump will wear out trying to push fuel through all that paper, and maybe the PSI at the CP3 will fall short as the filters plug. MO only... .

Take a deep breath... .....

I can't ever remember starting a question post here, but I keep coming back for the entertainment value and helping the masses once in a while. Many of your post do sound a bit like advertising but everyone on here has their own agenda. That is a given on every forum.

I would still like to hear your response... ... .

Thats a great response there. I have found some of your other posts informative but this one not so much.

Anyone can call. . if you support or denied You can Post. Me and The OP talked over an hour last night... Tell Me anyone/company who answers Question VIA phone on Saturday evenings? The OP asked a question and NOW I have supplied HIM the Answer IMO,if You don't buy out the time to call and express some type of thanks what type of Person are you really? Is it what you can get /learn out of it, or what you put into it. The Net is so full of deception's at times I want NO part of it.

Whats wrong with a filter between the cp3 and the factory canister. I put one there because it was a convenient, easy to install, seemed to be in the right place to put one. Was I wrong? Used to have injector problems, now I don't. If there is a better way I would like to know.

You might get reduced pressure at the CP3 if you put too many obstacles between the lift pump and the injection pump. If you have one of the aftermarket lift pumps that may not be an issue. Just a thought... .

I'm happy you have money but that has nothing to do with why you give partial advice and than want called. Forums including this one, are here for people to seek help, advice, suggestions, opinions and people with real experience. I'm planning to add a 2 micron filter between the OEM filter and the CP3. I've spent many hours and days researching this and never heard anyone say its not good, but you. I still want to know your opinion but I'm not going to call you. Makes no sense to go on a forum and say doing a mod isn't good and than not say why and than take offence when I asked please share. I strongly felt it was a sales pitch and I asked if it was. You say your tired of the net BS but yet your on here and making posts. Yes, I feel you owe the whole forum when it comes to the posts you make just out of general etiquette. If you only wanted the convo to be between you and the OP, than you should of emailed, called, PM, text the OP. The forum is public. I still wish to hear your opinion.

I have a Fass 95 on my signature truck that pumps through the factory filter and then goes to a 2 micron setup I purchased from GDP. From there, it supplies the CP3 with a pressure switch on the inlet banjo fitting. It has worked fine for years and many thousands of miles. The truck will also run without the lift pump running, but I've never driven it that way so I don't know if it would experience any power loss issues.

03 with 380,000 mi,fass 150 with fs1065/hf6604,oem filter removed, have never changed a filter and found a significant amount water. change filters based on pressure drop, dont know why you need the extra filter IMHO.
