Hello everyone. Well i just installed my first upgrade to the truck, a Hog performance exhaust with their standard muffler. I am very pleased with the quality of the pipes and how polished up everything is. The sound i just awsome, just like a big rig but on a smaller scale. I also just learned the the forums here how to make the turbo whisle a bit more. So i went popped out the silencer ring and now it's just music to my ears!! That combination sounds really good. For those wondering, there isn't any resonating with the standard muffler. You can tell a difference at idle, but you really notice it when you get on the throttle. The only problem i had was in the installation directions it showed a one piece over the axle pipe. In the kit i got a two piece over the axle pipe. No big deal. I put everything together and the last bend in the over the axle pipe clears the axle by about 1 1/2". Anyone else have a problem similar to this? Maybe they sent me the wrong pipe? Just don't want the exhaust to hit the axle if i have a heavy load on it. Other than that, i'm happy!! :D

When I first installed my HOG exhaust I pushed everything together as far as it would go. I only cleared the rear axle by maybe 1". I thought to myself "the exhaust is too short".

I found that you can't bottom out each connection. I loosened the clamps one at a time & pulled the pipe out so it was only half way into each connection & tightened the clamps. I also twisted the pipe so I can get my spare tire in & that puts sends the exhaust tip up on a slight angle. My exhaust tip exits at the rear corner of the bumper. I slid the muffler out just far enough I only get exhaust stains on the corner of the bumper.

Now it works perfect, I may change over to a 4" or 5" exhaust tip, I don't really care for the 6" tip that comes with the kit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I installed my Hog Performance system last fall. I did not have any issues with fit as you did, mine cleared everything just fine and simply bolted up. There is not another exhaust that looks any better or is made of any better components, they simple have that department covered.

I do not agree with the noise part though, my was not loud on the inside, but it had a very definite Drone at 2000-2100 Rpm. I have since fixed that, and truly love the exhaust system. The mirror polish they gave the muffler is beautiful, and has so far last just fine. Maybe other do not care what there exhaust system looks like, but I do and It is sure nice to see the reaction of other who view it. From looking at the few systems I have seen, they have the best down pipe, and use the best materials. I would strongly recommend them to anyone, and they now also make full length Nerf bars.
