Just installed the 52 gal tank in my 2019 Ram 2500 Cummins, CCSWB. Took me about 3-4 hours. The biggest pain in the a** was the access to the fuel lines at the sending unit. Don't know if there was a easier way to get to them but I had the tank half way dropped to try to access them. If I could of got to them a little easier I could of probably shaved a 45 mins off the install time. Filled it up and no leaks. The straps they sent were a little difficult to get seated properly but after a few curse words and some hammering/bending they finally went in. Not a bad driveway install if any one was thinking about tackling it.

Congratulations! I'm pretty intrigued - If you have a chance to take a pic or two, I'm curious about how low the 52 gallon tank hangs...
Does Titan offer options on strap material on that tank?

Thanks for the info on the install. I am thinking about doing to same when my new truck comes in, about 8 weeks from now. Every time I take on one of these projects I say this is the last one I am doing, I will pay someone to do it the next time. But every time one comes up I do it myself.

I helped a buddy of mine a couple weeks back do the same thing on his truck. We decided at the start to unbolt the bed from the truck and raise if just enough to get a 4"x4" block of wood between the bed and frame which gave us the space to access the feed lines a bit easier. Maybe that'll help someone else in the future but it worked fine for us.

That would be the way I would think to do it.
Jack the bed up, pull the wheel liner and wheel off and open the space up as much as possible.

I did not take any pictures. I want to say it hangs down 2.5 inches lower but it doesn't look like it is going to be a issue it is still up far enough to make me feel comfortable. They do provide straps and stainless ones for an extra cost.

I have a 2018 2500 and will be changing tank. Where to go and how do you change the program to accept the new 52 gal. tank any help is welcome on this matter. SWFiedler

So far I am not aware of any programming that will correct the tank size and make DTE accurate.

Ive had my 55 gallon tank in for almost 20K miles, more than I went with the stock tank, and love it. DTE sucked and everything else is good. It would be nice if Titan included a longer rod for the float, but it’s really not a big deal.

I know that with the Titan tank you will run about 100miles before the gage needle will move. I noticed that I run probably run at least 50 miles before the needle moves with standard tank. I don't remember the number of this tank 32 gals. comes to mind. It's probably not important l just wanted have some kind of reference point. I think the tank will hang 2 to 3 inches below the frame. Since l will be doing this on the ground. I thought about running the higher than the rear wheels. Take the bed loose stick 4x4 under and than go in at left rear wheel. Anyone with ideas. thanks everyone.

CCSB’s have a 31 gallon tank and hang a bit lower than with the 52 than the CCLB with a 55, but nothing crazy.

I burn 10 gallons before the needle starts to move on my 55.

@SFiedler , I think with the AlfaOBD App you could address the larger tank. When I've been if the App, the is a fuel tank capacity choice. I'm not sure if this would correct the DTE, but I'm sure it's in the App for a reason! The App developer really has made it simple to check and change our trucks! In VehConfig 3: Fuel Capacity (36-290 L) and then enter value for tank size. Then there is Cluster: Fuel Tank Calibration, Full - Empty - LFW settings which ask for a % choice. Hope this helps and maybe someone has tried and changed these settings with AlfaOBD.

It doesn’t work. As soon as you go larger than the largest OEM single tank it’s looking for a 2nd sender since the C&C trucks can have 2 tanks. So when I input the increase capacity with a full tank the gauge went to 1/2 since there wasn’t a 2nd tank to read.

Ive never tried the gauge calibration because it’s been reported to not stay after a power cycle.

AlfaOBD is a great tool, but it has lots of things that don’t apply to these trucks.

@AH64ID

Does that mean that it can at least be set to 52 gallons as that is the largest factory single tank available?

What year did that tank get offered? C&C’s get one that big? I know the aft tank is 22.

I tried going just a few liters above my 32 gal tank and the gauge started going down right away. I was thinking 32 was the biggest for my era.

Really all that is screws up is DTE. The not coming off full wouldn’t matter since the float arm is too short. For the price of the tank Titan should include a new float arm that would allow it to be accurate from full to empty, but as it sits now the float is full up with 45 gallons in the tank.

I also put the 55 gal titan in my 17 cclb. I can go about 200 miles before the needle starts dropping. And as already noted the dte is worthless and from here and other sites have found no way to change the tank size to make it accurate. I had intentions of filling up at various points ie 3/4 tank, 1/2 tank, 1/4 tank, when low fuel light comes on and at "E" and making notations of how many gallons it would take to fill at each but never did do it or at least the ones I have done I don't remember. So I just drive it and fill it up just like I would if I had the oem tank. I can tell you now that fuel has risen in price to well over $3 GAL after about 1/2 tank it takes two credit card swipes as it go over the limit at the pump. Though that does depend on the station and their policy. I have seen them as low as $50 up to $125 per swipe around here the most common is $75 per swipe. And while you still burn the same amount of fuel it is a bummer going to get fuel and shelling out $120+ to fill up.

gsbrockman I think that had been looked at but it didn't work either but have looked at so many of those fix it threads they all run together now and I just quit worrying about it. Hopefully AH64ID will chime in on it as I think he was one of the ones who had done some testing on it.

When I installed my tank I put 5 gallons in and then filled it in 5 gallon increments and recorded the tank % from my CTS2. It’s always close on subsequent fillups and works as a rough DTE when needed.

As you already know.....the pickups never had one that big (then it was a 50 gallon tank) until 2019 or 2020.

The Cab & Chassis trucks have always had at least a 52 gallon primary tank, unless some were ordered without it in favor of ONLY the 22 gallon tank. Seems I remember viewing some rollbacks with only the 22 gallon tank, as the inherent design of a rollback precludes the use of a rear tank.

I never wholly trust (nor even look at) DTE on my truck.

For you guys with a 55 gallon tank......as long as the gauge increments are relatively accurate, I’d know in my head that 1/4 tank is 13.75 gallons or so. If I’m getting 8 mpg towing, I know I’ll be pushing it in 110 miles as I’m out of fuel.

This same thing has been discussed over on CF and the 30 and under snowflakes rely toooooo heavily on technology for something as simple as DTE.

@gsbrockman well there goes my theory on single vs dual senders and tank size :D

Yeah DTE is a joke, I never trusted it anyhow. The tank is fairly linear. 1/2 is right about 25 gallons, but the bottom does go faster than the top… just like most rigs.
