I've been reading other members threads about the PMCR, I just could hardly believe it would make such a difference. Boy was I wrong, now my CTD is a sports car, well maybe not. But it sure gives you a different seat of the pants impression. Oo.

how easy was it to install? i have been doing research on different programmers and i have come to the conclusion that i want the TST PMCR. glad to hear that it performs well.

It's the one to get if you never want to grow out of a fueling box.

I'm upgrading in October, when the new module comes out. It will have cool-down timer capabilities, among other features. Hopefully the controller will still fit in the ash tray.

The install takes a little time but it's all plug and play. 3 plugs for the injector harness, 1 map sensor, 1 cam positions sensor, 1 crank position sensor, 1 power wire, and 1 keyed power wire. It's all in the instructions.

Easy install, great directions, and not only seat of the pants, but dyno numbers to back it up. So far, I got 160hp out of it. Running out of fuel, until I get a pump on. then will get more, or as much as my turbo will allow. You're always chasing the weak link around. Fuel, air, exhaust. But its all fun. I also got 2-3mpg out of mine, if I run it on lower levels.

once you have did it a few times, it gets to be about a 20 minutes ordeal

It takes a while to get used to the throttle and how the TST comes on.

I now know that for my truck 5/5 or 6/6 I can go full throttle. . but. . be sure to not nail it off the line, give her time to spool so you don't damage the turbo.

Talking automatic... . once you are well under way it will scare you when the torque coverter locks... TST knows it and boy does it launch. Does it twice, once in third lockup and then fourth lockup. Oh what a feeling... if you have the gazumbas to not let up.

Also be careful letting off. That's the key to a long turbo life... at high levels, easy on, easy off.

I'm about a month in to having the TST. I've been using 3/3 for normal driving and lighter towing. Had one crank sensor code, but it cleared itself. Anything under 3/3 and it feels sluggish. I will be installing a fuel pressure gauge this weekend, because I can get it to burp here and there on 4/4 and 5/5. Fass is on my mod list. Hey tom what are the features on the new unit? Knock on wood, my plastic Intercooler is holding up with the TST wastegate mod. I hit 34-36 psi and then it drops.

Well, I think Mark fixed the crankshaft code problem with some timing changes... And that the new box will have available boost backdown feature and a cool down timer thingy...

Everything is a little delayed so far getting it on production models, but it should not be long...

Will power changes on the new box be the same as the old with low RPM fueling and High RPM fueling? I think it would be slick to have the function to program in what you want for several positions so another driver doesn't just dial up 9/9

its really cool to make the TST box think its getting 42 psi boost at all time and full fuel at a dead stop. The engine also thinks it is at 35 psi boost at an idle. The truck will smoke like crazy with just the EZ on, with the tst on 9 its psycho. Still have the lil 235 hp injectors too, F-1's should be in tommorrow.

Got and Vids? Thats gotta be some serious fuel if the TST thinks it is at 42psi all the time!

i need to make a vid, . . i'll be running it at the High desert meet in lancaster/palmdale. Its like removing the afc and plate on a 12v, but better. I can't wait to see the smoke with the inj. The aroura 5000 really spools nice with the commonrail. I was really surprised. The stock converter is really feeling the pinch. I'll have one of Dave's 800/300's in by Friday i hope.

Actually one wish is that TST would come up with a better, faster way of changing power levels. I can't stand the membrane buttons and the fact that the hp and torque are two settings apart. There's gotta be some better way of controlling this thing. Don't get me wrong i love the box, just a pet peeve after using it for a year.

I can agree with that and I don't even have one but have used boxes with a knob.

How about a 4 position knob that you are able to program each of those 4 positions? Like:

1= 2/3

2= 2/4

3= 5/5

4= 7/7

or whatever you select for those spots, that would be slick IMO.

you can do it on the 2001 truck too. You just need too fool the engine and box that the truck is up to full boost. I would be a little scared on a vp 44 telling the ecm it is at full boost, but lying to to box should be fine
