I'm still grinning.

I had a 96 since new, and it is quite a different vehicle. Better in every way, at least so far.

Power, Brakes, Lights, ROOOOM, etc.

One thing I did notice though, is the little sticker in the glovebox, for weight

rating, it says that it has a 1300# load (Camper) rating in the box.

On a 3500?

My 96 had an 8800 GVWR, and it meant that it could carry a camper that weighed less than 1100 lbs. , after you deduct 3 people and their gear... .

Now, with a 9900 GVWR, it isn't much more. I was thinking at least 1000 lbs more.

I guess the question is, has anyone put a camper in a Mega Cab yet?

There is a camper rental place in Delta that has bought 30 of them, so I guess it can be done. Just wondering what it handles like, looks like, etc.

FWIW; I scaled my 06 3500 MC dually/6speed Laramie last week. With a full tank (34 gal) and no cargo it weighed 7420lb. The GVWR is 9900, as I believe MegaCabs are.

My actual door sticker says 10,500, but the dealer registered it as 9900 with Arizona DOT; keeps costs down on the registration. That would give you a cargo capacity of about 2500 or so. Maybe they are talking about "campers" only when it mentions that weight because of the center of gravity change? Just a guess.....
