Just got my truck today. Man I'm I excited! I've been on this forum for a couple of months doing research as to what to buy and finally decided to purchase an 02 Quad Cab LB. Found this guy in Central City that specializes in finding exactly what you are looking for and after about 6 weeks he came up with the perfect truck! Looked at new '05's and really didn't like them. Drove some '01's and 02's and liked them but had a lot of miles on them. But this one is awesome, only 42,000 miles and looks new! Previous owner claims 28 mpg, but i'll have to check that one out. Can't wait to take a trip with it. Now what what to do first??

You're lucky you found this site BEFORE you bought... I've got a fantastic truck and I love... it does everything I could ask and I'm actually looking forward to a few more mods but I just discovered yesterday that I have a 53 Block... I'm still getting over it... I'll be O. K. No leak so far and if it does I'll either fix it or drop a new engine in it... maybe a 600!

Sorry to go nuts there... CONGRATS ON YER NEW RIG! Make sure you put all the details in your signature so we can watch and you make improvements.

Congrats! If you've been lurking, then you know gauges are first. Then make a plan (you won't stick to it, but it's a start!) for how much power you want and what you're gonna use the truck for: towing, racing, whatever. Exhaust and intake are fairly universal, good place to get your feet wet.

was just outside looking ove the truck. Looks like the previous owner had tapped the VP-44 and then I noticed a yellow VOID sticker on it. I assume this means the warranty on the pump is voided, that sucks! Especially since I have the transferred extended warranty. He did have the exhaust manifold drilled and tapped for a pyro gauge, so i won't have to do that. Where would you hook up the boost and fuel pressure gauges?
