I've been looking for one since I saw it in person on a truck parked next to me at the track. After some research, I found out that they also have an A-Series cover that is full aluminium.
I finally pulled the trigger on getting me one and since I was at it, I also picked up their cargo management rigamajig.

I got the on Amazon that had them for a very good price and they should be in sometime next week. I'll let you guys know how works out, but it will be pretty nice to being able to go grocery shopping without having stuff moving around everywhere and I hate having cargo inside the cab...

I have a Roll and lock on my 2013. I keep the camp fire wood in there so it is always dry and I leave my B&W Companion hitch connected and in the bed. I love it Wish I had done it to my 99 dodge.

Did you install it yourself? Any tip? Or simply follow the instructions?

I have had numerous roll nlock locks.I bought a retrax
this time around I would never go back to a roll n lock
Any main reason why you chose a Retrax? I'd never heard of this brand until I read your post. I'm currently trying to figure out what I want for my '16 2500 longbed. I was looking at the Rollnlock and then saw a Pace Edwards with an "explorer track" that lets you also add racks over the cover.

The retrax is all ball bearing and very little maintenance compared to the roll n lock always having to silicone the side rails and you can open the tailgate any time.Retrax can lock anywhere on its glide path unlike the roll n lock.

I had a Roll n Lock cover years ago and installed myself on my 95. If you follow the instructions it wasn't too bad, but it was heavy. Overall it wasn't too bad. I did not drill holes in the box for the drain tubes, but pinched them into the drains area's in the bed. Down side to the cover was "freezing" weather. If you had freezing rain, or snow, it would freeze into the slats and make it almost impossible to open it, or even unlock it. Since you needed to open it to open the tailgate, this could cause problems. Also, I would have to remove the top cover, which was no big deal on occasion to clean out debris, or leaves that would roll in, even with the "whiskers" when you retracted the cover. This would also plug the drain tubes as well. Another downside to this cover was, anytime I removed items from the bed and it was raining, everything got wet. They may have improved things over the years, but after several years I removed it and went with a cap that served my purposed much better. Probably a good idea if you had a fifth wheel type set up. What ever works for you is always the best.

Jim, that's some good stuff you mention and speaks to how each solution has pros & cons. Thanks!

I got the boxed picked up at UPS the other day but haven't got a chance to fizzle with them yet...

Definitely some good info here. I'm looking for something that will lock independently from the tailgate since my '16 has the locking tailgate with the keyfob. Also I liked the optional additional gate that for the rollnlock that can be used to have items locked when the cover is partially retracted like when I'm pulling the 5ver.

In my case the fact that everything locks together was a plus; based on your needs, what I'd suggest is to check with Roll-N-Lock as for select trucks they have a kit that allows the gate to lock independently from from the cover. Perhaps they have something similar for the Ram.

Finally got time to install it today and it looks great. Very clean look and love the all aluminium construction. I'm a little disappointed by the cargo manager as it is plastic and not as rigid as I would have hoped.

I had to fizzle with the tracks a little to get them true or it would bind.

All and all it is still a great product!!!

Looks very nice. I had to futz with with alignment of the side rails on mine as well. Not too hard, just takes a little time to make it "perfect". Roll n Lock used to offer a product that you could treat you cover with, and it would make it look brand new. It did a nice job, and had a very unique smell to it. Don't know if they still offer it or not. Enjoy the coer.
