I was running errands this morning that took me on a different route to work. I was switching between several radio stations, partially tuned in to all the 9/11 stuff, but mostly contemplating the busy day ahead.
When I drove through our little town of Berthoud, I saw something that brought tears to my eyes and I almost had to pull over and stop. Our local firefighters were out in front of the station in full dress, heads bowed in prayer beneath a big ol' flag. Every fire truck I've seen today is flying the colors.
I'll have a "normal" day. But the most important part of it already happened, and I won't forget.
God bless America!
