Hey Brian,

Allow me to welcome you to the TDR

I'm sure the 12 valve guys will be along shortly, but until they do you can help yourself by using the Search feature at the top of the page under the Discussion Forums drop down menu.

The TDR is a tremendous resource; just don't be surprised if you've read every discussion about something and are even more confused then when you began. :-laf

A lot of your choices may depend on how much you are willing to spend (i. e. lower miles, later years, condition etc. ), and what you plan on doing with it. Also in my area a manual will fetch far more then an auto. A good place to start is right here in the classified section! Good luck!

Brian,

Welcome to the TDR... .

As I'm sure you already know..... Any vehicle which has been around for a while and then a change comes along (IE:24 valve)... . The last couple years of the 12 valve would be the highest evolution of the species (so to speak). Probably a better all around truck in the latter years. Just watch out for the 53 block!

Use the search function to answer your questions. Sometimes you may have to dig to find your answer. But when you are spending $$$ it is time well spent.

You will find this a valuable resource and you will find a lot of nit picking and complaints (pretty sporadic)... ... DO NOT BE AFRAID. In the end I'm sure you will find you made the right decision.

Spend some time here doing some research and go shopping!!

Have fun! Oo.
