All i hear about is the $3500 cost of the ISB fuel pump. The cost for a Recon VP44 over the counter is $1088 with your core. The cost of a ISB injector over the counter is roughly $64 (with core).
I called my ford dealer, the cost for PSD injector was $750.
So for the price of two PSD injectors; you can get a RECON VP44 fuel pump and a complete set of injectors. To be fair, i did ask about ford recon PSD injectors-- they where not availible yet or just not stocking them at the dealer.
But, on the other hand it will be at least a couple more years before the warranty is up on your present trucks.

That is good news, can I go to (in my case) Cummins West to make this transaction, and would they likely have inventory (the pump)?
A certain Dr. %#&@ guaranteed me my pump would not last the day due to my little pump detonator device.

I know that we had them in stock last week, we had to install two ( one on a school bus and one on a Dodge ) both reasons due to gasoline. I think it's great that parent have raised their children to top off the fuel tank if they use the truck; but, it would be cheaper if the paid for a box of microwave popcorn and a rental movie. I've seen the little boxes----right now Dodge handles your warranty claims; and i only see them when they can't find the problem. The first thing i look for is tampered wired, some of these boxes have the same plug-ins and are easy to remove without a sign of tampering. you may want to seek out a bosch dealer to get the ends.

Man i was laughing! I've heard of this before, kid uses dad's truck cause mom's got the car. Be sure to put some fuel in it kid. Kid goes to the gas station and fills up with unleaded regular. Kid jumps back in, fires up and gets 'bout 15 feet from the gas station and surprise! surprise! surprise! to quote Gomer Pyle. I suppose just about everything would have to be flushed out and I don't even want to think about how much trouble/expense that would be.
Regarding the box, we have been taught that we are our own warranty station. If we hot rod we take our chances. If I have trouble with the pump which doen't seem to be the problem Dr. $%#@ said it would be I would take the responsibility for the repair. That is why I appreciate the concept of the recon pump for a h*** of a lot less money. And yes their are two wires to the pump attached with scotch locks which can be removed. I think it would be fairly easy to cover my tracks but I'll take care of my self induced troubles. Because I am my own warranty station!
Good post re: fuel mileage incidently, I think your a heck of a technical resource for us problem causers.
