Just some pics of the truck coming back together

Well, the truck is finally starting to come together and heading to the bodyshop for a two week visit monday to get a fresh coat of paint and the dents taken out. Thought I would post picks of what it currently looks like at this stage. Here they are:

What kind of engine damage did they end up finding? Wasn't your VP44 fried or something?

Steve, I don't want to know what the final bill is going to be..... the paint and bodywork alone is going to 3100 bucks (and that's with me stripping the exterior so all they have to do it bodywork and paint). Hood was 659. 00, another 500 bucks or so in stereo equipment, 100 bucks for an alarm, 300 bucks for a rubber floor, 125. 00 for a rear bumper. The transmission still needs to be rebuilt, quote on that is 1100 bucks just to rebuild with new synchros and bearings, think I'll spend the few extra dollars and get a complete rebuilt unit for 1275 or so. I haven't done the rear brakes yet either.



As for engine damage, Cummins says that all that was wrong with then the engine was the fuel pump went out. I've replaced the mallory with my spare and seems to be running fine, but only time will tell if they did any real damage to it.



As for getting the dog back on the road, yes, I can't wait, I'm getting a little bored driving in the slow lane.....

Morph, Glad to hear that your truck is coming back together. I would hopefully doubt that they could have harmed your engine.

We have 12valves in trucks at UPS and they get driven like they were stolen everyday. Hope all comes back together well and when it is all running, hope you see those short Johnsoned little a$$holes walking down the street and run them over at full boost!!! I feel better now! Good luck, Chris

The outside sure looks better than the last time I saw it! I may have to bring a wire brush to Muncie next year. It just ain't right for an old farm truck to look *that* good!
