Just started today, when accelerating from a stop or after slowing down the exhaust brake comes on (both feel & hear it). Stay on the accelerator, and it will turn off, down shift and take off. If I accelerate very, very slowly, I can gain speed and it's ok. Will do it if EB switch is on or off.

See if you can get any codes by using the key trick or taking to auto parts (national) to get your codes read.



Sounds like elecronic/electric issue (one your on /off switch and what ever controls the EB to activate/deactivated).

Mine did that once without throwing a code, stopped for a light, E brake stayed on when I tried to pull away. Next stop it went off, and I stopped using it. About a month later a code locked in and dealer replaced turbo under warranty, been fine ever since.

Dirty turbo. If it hasn't been cleaned or replaced under warranty, it may be time. When mine did that, they replaced the turbo.
