I have a brand new 3500. The only modifications I think I can do until the warranty is up are an air filter and exhaust system. I’ve been looking at the previous posts and there are conflicting opinions as to whether it’s worth it.

So, I thought I’d ask again. Do you believe putting in a K&N and a 4” is worth it if these are the only mods I do?

You can get "stealth" injectors from Diesel Dynamics, and a DD TTPM box. The box can be disconected in minutes when you need warranty work.

Exhaust an K N are great 2nd and 3rd additions. Gauges first!
Let the fun begin!

I personally think it would be a waste of money to do that with no engine mods. The only thing I would do to the exhaust is change the muffler because the 3" pipe is plenty fine up to 300hp,and the factory muffler is very restrictive. The factory airbox is also fine for mild upgrades.

If you are going to bomb the truck later on (fueling boxes and the like)and you want to spend some money preparing for it. I would say gauges first, then Air filter and Exhaust. You will not see much of any benifit from the filter and exhaust till you start bombing. The stock system is quite adequate for a stock engine. The gauges however are a good idea reguardless... . MH

(Wish list) 4" Exhaust, Low stall converter, Built transmission, Banks Power Pak.

Thanks for the input. I think the only thing I'll do right now is get rid of the muffler. Perhaps I'll go with Geno's muffler elimination piece, or just have a muffler shop put a piece of 3" pipe there.
