When I bought this truck the previous owner had already installed the Amsoil airfilter on it. My question is, can I use my K&N air cleaner cleaning solution & the oil, or do I have to use the brand specific oil? If I am required to use the Amsoil cleaner & oil, where can an individual such as my self obtain these?

I'm planning on driving the truck from NC to MI in less then 2 weeks, so the pressure is on. I've got a few things I'd like to get done before I make the trip.

Also, what year bumper lights will fit in the 94? Are they all the same upto 2001/02

Thanks,

Corey

your K & N kit should be fine

but make sure that you have a back up filter.

It takes several days for the amsoil filter to dry ;)

**edit** I have not done an oil analysis on the two oils

If you have an amsoil dealer near purchase their oil***

Bob, have you compared the two oils? I thought the K&N was a lighter "wicking" type. The Amsoil is quite tacky.

The drying out of the Amsoil is the only drawback to that filter, it takes a day.

Where would you folks suggest getting this oil from. Is it available from autoparts (I've never seen it) or does it have to be ordered from the dark recesses of some far off state?

Thanks,

Corey

I had dealer install the factory projector lights when I bought my 96 truck. They require making a new bracket for the radiator/intercooler. Not an easy job the service advisor (a friend of mine) told me it was a 4-6 hour job. He told me later that Dodge had issued a notice (TSB?) that said not to relocate brakets and install the fog/driving lights.

I had a minor bump that forced my bumper back and the lights busted into AC unit. unsure if that had anything to do with the relocating of brackets.

DO NOT USE K&N CLEANER OR OIL ON THE AMSOIL FILTER!!!

Clean it with soap and water, let dry, no air pressure.

Use only the Amsoil filter oil, the foam is just a holder for the oil, the oil is what does the filtering.

CoreyPerez,

Where in MI will you be?

PIAA makes a bracket to mount lights in the factory holes. The bracket is ~$20 and I can dig up the part number if you need it.

Ryan,

We head up US23 off of 80/90 in Ohio, take that up to 96, merge and head to Lansing. From there we take the Grandledge exit near the junction of 96/69. I think we are only going to nap, and head up to Harrison and vacinity to meet with family. We are going to be headed back to NC sometime Wed. Same route, reverse direction.
