What is the best air system. Price to object.

I have the K&N I love it, they give you the intake tube and the silicone tube also. It also knocked down my EGT.

Also consider AFE Mega-Cannon....

I chose it for two reasons:

"advertised" cfm flow of the filter at 820, which is the highest I've seen published. It's a large filter and has an open end filtering media, as well, so it seemed to me to be credible. I replaced my RE-0880 with the

AFE, and for sure the AFE has a lot more filtering area.

The quality of the entire kit..... first rate. But, I'm familiar with K&N products, and acknowlege that their kit is also high quality. I also like the solid air intake tube to replace the stocker. I tried to get them to sell me just the tube but they wouldn't.

You can see the AFE and cfm comparisons of other filters here: (reader beware of claims)

I paid $199 shipped to me. I also bought an Outerwears cover for the filter, which I really like. It should keep the AFE clean, and the flow restriction is undetectable to me. I'm thinking of cutting the Scotty hole in the cowl to bring more air into the open end of the AFE, but I gotta figure out a way to not have it be a front door for the mice I battle some of the time.

I'm biased! but.....

... my truck'll be getting a Scotty II in the not-so-distant future. I think that his is the best-thought-out out there so far... . and the price should be comparable to everybody else's
