I have tried 4" abs (too big) 4" pvc drain pipe (too flimsy) 4" steel exhaust tubing (too small) what am I missing???? The steel pipe is on there now but the fit sucks( to be blunt). The turbo flex hose is a 4. 25" ID and the K&N is a 4"ID. I can't seem to find anything that would be a good compromise. Stuffing the filter in place doesn't seem real impressive. Sound wise;well, let me tell ya', this is NOT your fathers Oldsmobile. I put the Silencer ring back in and the whistle is still a little intense in the cab. Too much of a good thing i think. I love turbo music as much as the next guy but. . .

I would be willing to pay shipping if someone wants to pay eighty bucks for set. The unfortunate thing is, the truck Loves it. Between the new straight pipe mod and the big K&N, it climbed the mountain at 70mph with NO Problem, except all thos pesky 25MPH turns! Just thought I would get a little input and share a little opinion. :)

I have an inch long 4" piece of exhaust pipe. It is inserted in the K&N (now AFE) filter and the stock hose is put over the outside of the filter flange. The pipe is there to keep the flange from just crumbing up under the clamping force.

Did you put the 1" long section of 4" exhaust IN the end of the K&N? If not, try this, and it will fit great. Also, be very careful with the amount of oil you put on the pre-filter... I have seen severalt trucks with intake systems full of filter oil because of it.

That was my problem when i first installed the Psychotty, i was using the piece of 4" pipe to connect the stock hose to the K&N. What you are supposed to do is take the hose clamp off the K&N then put the piece of steel pipe inside the K&N opening, then pull the stock air hose OVER the K&N inlet. As mentioned, the steel pipe is only there for the hose clamp to tighten against. Untill i figued this out the K&N was too long and i had to bend the stock hose and what not, it was a disaster. Once you do like we tell you it will be fine, give it a try.

Stuff it!

I orginaly just stuffed my Re-0880 into the turbo hose and tightned the clamp. Well 6 months later its worked great. It was a "temporary" fix but well you know how that goes. I have 10K on the Cone filter now and no evidence of dirt or anything in the turbo hose. Seems to be sealed very well... its a #@$%^ to get the filter into my turbo hose. The RE-0880 filter is a great addition IMO.

If you go with something to clamp on exhaust tubing will be the easiest to find. 4"pvc is ID rather than OD which is what EXH tubing is. I was impatient and stuffed the filter in the hose... . it worked and I left it that way. Its laziness yes..... but it works :) lol

Simply the best!

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

When I called Dalton's truck parts, the guy said he would have to sell me a foot of pipe ($5. 49) as a minimum order. I didn't care, so I went down to San Bernadino to pick it up. I asked the guy at the parts counter for 2"s of 4" tubing and he brought me back 4" of 4" and said No charge with a nice friendly grin so I didn't have the heart to say, Hey, I only wanted 2"! Know what I mean? I thought about trying to slip one end over the other but my insert was too long. I guess it is time to get the ol'hack saw out. At least now I KNOW how it is supposed to be done! You guys are the best!
