Anybody know where I can get an RE 0880. I looked at the K&N web and even they don't list one. Also, I would like to know the thoughts on clutches. Mine is just starting to slip. I have a BD pnp and plan on 275's or DDII's later on. What clutch would be a good replacment???

I just bought one from Summit Racing. Total cost to my door was $56. 44. I don't know what Diesel Dynamics charges however.

I recently got a Psychotty unit without the filter, so I needed one. I'm glad I got mine when I did, considering the recent shortage of units. Got an awesome deal from Carl's (wwcd2) group buy site. I got the last unit too, apparently... ... .

I called carparts.com, they were not sure about which filter "sock" was right for the 0880, so they called K&n and got back to me with the recomendation that I use another one--I think 4770--not sure of the number, but same as 0880, except with filter material on th end as well as outside. Just flows a little more air than the 0880.

Again I don't remember the exact price, but about $60. with the sock.

The PN for the "higher-flow" K&N is RX4070. You're right, it has filter media on the end rather than the rubber cap. I have the RE-0880 with the 25-0880 prefilter.

I question whether the RX would offer any of us increased air-flow since the butt end of our filters hits the firewall, and seems to me to just be too cramped to allow for maximum air flow.

If these cone filters could be aimed toward the front of the truck like you can on gassers, I think the RX would work better than the RE.

I was quoted a price on the RX of $50. 17 + shipping from a company called Performance International 800. 522. 1672 a couple of months ago. Tha'ts competitive with the RE, so if I was doing it over, I'd go with the RX.
