hello all!!

I need two things actually.

I need a code reader and don't know what to get....a dedicated code reader or buy a cable and download software to my iphone or iPad.....or a third option.....I guess I could always use this as an excuse to get an Edge CTS.

Second I need a good SF Peninsula shop. I've used Winspeed in Livermore.....but they're not practical....they're far away and not open on the weekends. I'm not interested in taking two days off work to get my truck worked on. Don't get me wrong, they've done great work for me in the past....they need to move out of the sticks!!

thanks in advance!!

If you don't have a tuner I'd definitely get one. Either Edge or Smarty. If you don't want to spend that much I have a Scan Gauge II that reads codes as well as tracks fuel economy and many engine parameters. I had it installed full time on my 98 to monitor engine functions and mpg. It is not vehicle specific so it is my go to if I need to pull a DTC off of any of my vehicles.

Thanks JR.

Does the CG II clear codes?

Does Edge require any wires to be pierced?
