Ok guys I am FINALLY a permanant resident of Salina. So now I can finally keep up on here again.

As far as the dyno. I am figuring that we can meet at the Bosselmans between 7 and 8 trying to be flexible for those even farther out west.

Let me know if all this works or if anyone has a better idea.

Russell

Ok guys this is the plan for those of you from around Central Kansas we are going to meet at the Flying "J" on the Ohio St. exit in Salina. Try and be there between 7 and 7:30. We would like to leave by 8 so as be able to pick up the Lawrence crew. If you need any help or just want to let me know you will be there go ahead and email me at -- email address removed -- or if it works better for you call me at 913-568-6455.

I already know about you Bill, and Larry I got your voice mail and I will call you here in a little bit.

Okay I have been living in Salina for almost a full month now and this week I finally started school on monday. We didnt do anything do to the fact that SNAP ON sales rep in the KS area cant find the 18 sets of tools that people ordered in May of this year are, but what can ya do. Anyway back to the point. Having to drive 62 miles one way twice a day gives me time to watch other trucks mostly other diesels on the road out here in farmers land. And my lordy do I see alot of CTD's running up and down the road. And i mean NICE ones. But no TDR badges or even stickers. Whats the deal fella's? If ya watch this board jump in guys. Make your self known. If ya see me gimme the universal CTD wave and smoke a little. I do it everytime I see one regardless if your going the other way...

Just thought I would post that cause I found it kind of curious that there are so many CTD's in the neck of the woods yet on here we seem few and far between. Maybe we could get more going on in the Kansas Neb OK area if more would pipe up.

This is what happens when my brain wanders Oo.

One Stack must have a pretty loud truck as there are several straight-piped trucks in Salina. There is a flatbed running around with open duals making 90 degree bends at the back of the bed. The pipes are small, look like 1 3/4, but really crackle. I wonder what he thought he was gaining?

Anyway, I have the TDR front license plate on mine and 18,500 miles since March, so surely the opportunity to see a white one around town presents itself. If not, let me know and I'll drive by. Glen

Yeah its perty darn loud. Unfortuneatly I havent driven it but twice in the last two weeks. I blew out the front seall behind the harmonic balancer. So I had to wait a week for parts and then on mon when installing everything we had a mishap with the timing and now the threads on the pump shaft are hamburger so i had to wait for a die to come in so that i can rethread it and get the truck back together. She should be up and running tonight though.

and no i am not the one with 1 3/4 pipes. I am the one with straight 4" pipes. that are being changed to 5's when i upgrade turbos pretty soon. Got more fuel and not enough air. :D

I knew it was not yours as I have stood around and talked with the kid. I think he is from the Tescott area. He says it is just a farm truck, but I think he lives under the illusion that John Force would be in trouble if they ever get side by side. He would make a good Cummins commercial, it is hard to imagine abusing an engine more and having it live!

There are other open Cummins around, one belongs to a fence builder and I heard/saw a black one blazing down Santa Fe the other night, racing with all the boys.

I guess rough and tough is just one reason we bought them. Glen

What are you two doing up so early?!? I was up at 7am, but wasn't on the comp. , on coffee brk. now. Russell , you learning anything yet? Any new pic's Glen? L8er,

Larry

Larry, I always have new pics. We have been to Tuttle Puddle doing a little truck abusing in the old military Chevy. I would like to try my Dodge over there, but just cannot bring myself to go whacking trees with it. Besides, I would not get very far without the lockers at both ends. I was in your neighborhood last week again, drove through town but did not spot your rig. I had been up at the lake knocking off a few scorpions for a friend of mine... We should be back in Russell Thursday night if all goes as planned, I guess that is tomorrow! Glen

Glen, I'll be working in the field tomorrow if it don't rain tonight, gotta get ready to plant that wheat!! You have my cel#, give me a call, if I'm around we can grab a coke somewhere, Bear House or Wilson.

Larry

yeah im learning lots of stuff. Dont just trust someone when they tell you the timing pin is in the engine and then the pump. And then turn the pump (to advance timing) with out checking it first... 3 days and a complete rethread of the shaft and a new timing gear later... ... . because nothing was timed correctly the pump was off 180* and therefore screwed everything up. And after firing the truck and discovering how far off it was, the shaft decided to come loose pushing the nut to hard and stripping the threads and wollering out the shaft WAY too much. Lots of fun... But all is well now, thankfully we had a 5. 9 as a trainer out of a 94 12v and what do you know the parts just happen to work. . i just hope the instructor doesnt figure it out... LOL. .

Glen, where abouts out here are ya? I run from Salina to Beloit everymorning and back around 4 or so in the afternoon. So if ya see me gimme a wave or track me down... . Just ask larry my truck REALLY sticks out, around here. :D

Russell

p. s. larry you have a PM I got a new cell so I'm updating you.

A run to Beloit every day! I wish I had known that when we were buying a few cars at the Ford dealer. We coulda hitched a ride in that horse of yours!

I am in Salina. a police officer here for 18 years. I bought my first Cummins after drooling over them all these years. I bit the bullet and bought a new one in March. It is just about to roll over 19,000. I figured up cost per mile on my old military truck. It is getting close to 15 cents without fuel. I figure it will take my Dodge over 300,000 to get there if nothing breaks. Ouch! It has air though and that is nice, it runs faster than 48 on the road and that is nice, it hauls more than two and that is nice, it has a radio and that is nice, it looks good and that is nice, it has more power and that is the key! What a blast, I gave a friend from Mentor a ride in it tonight to Ellsworth, I think he is wanting one now. Glen

Had a white ext. cab dodge 3/4 give me some smoke leavin the State Fair on the 12th. Had a TST sticker. It was at main and 30th bout 6-6:30. was in the g/f's car so didn't have a chance to have some fun.

Nathan

I was down there on Saturday, but I think that would have been the 13th. I left about that time and I would guess you missed two opportunities. Mine has no stickers though, it does have a TDR front tag. Glen

Spoke with the kid who has the White flatbed last night, he is from Brookville. He is the one with dual exhaust. He said that was a real fluke, he took it to an exhaust shop and told them he wanted 3 1/2" out the back, instead he got a pair of 1 3/4" pipes with no mufflers. It adds up the same but certainly does not flow the same. It sure does have a bark to it though. Glen
