Competition Kat Diesel,,good luck tomorrow

Competition SWEEEEET!!! Where have I been?

Today Eric ran a 13:60 and 99. 28 mph and that was with tire spin while in 4-wheel drive! That Kwikkurt turbo is awsome! I cant believe how that turbo made such an improvement, Kurt your turbo ROCKS! So how-bout that B-1 bomber turbo:rolleyes: John

WOW!!!

That is an awesome time at a great mile an hour.

Anything in the 13's is better then factory muscle car time. IMO, 100 mph is the magic mile an hour barrier. 99. 99 is good to GO!!!:)

Thumbs up Kat:D

Thanks, I just got home, been up since 4pm Saturday sooo going to bed. I'll try to post videos later hne I get them off the camara.

Was a fun day... I am very happy with how she ran, just need a "lilbit more". As Floor It said... . I have discovered a traction problem even in 4 wheel drive... . kinda of an odd feeling.

kat how much boost are you launching with that you are experiencing wheel spin in 4wd???

you either have to leave on less boost or its time to get slicks and launch 2wd .

that is a looking good . better than i will see , i have reached a HP wall myself . still looking for that 13 sec slip , i think the HX40 will get me there . i put the DD bleed elbow on that i had been using with my 35 and i now get 48psi boost  ... was unable to get to the track , i'd like to while i have the 93 TC in before i swap it out for a 91 ... gotta use this thing to tow once in awhile . .

what were you seeing for EGT on the top end ? what setting on your comp ?

i agree with hvac . 100 mph would be an impressive number with a 4x4 diesel pickup ...

Boost, its kinda hard to tell on my 50lb gauge, but I was close to 10psi I think. Going to change the gauge to a 35lb gauge so I can see what level I am launching at more clearly.

EGT's, thats a good question, I don't peg my gauge anymore, except for a second or two while boost builds. I wasn't really paying attention to it tho, I just know its much better then last time out. Setting on COMP 5 X 5.

Going to work on launching a tad bit more easier and shifting out of 4 wheel a tad bit quicker.

Next Sunday I want a 13. 59 slip @ 100. 01 MPH. I may put an elbow on Kurts turbo and see if a lil more boost will get me what I want, right now it don't go over 35lbs... as far as I can tell.

Also waiting for Kurt to tell me bout his B1 Turbo :D If its just as fast spooling as this one is, then I'm on the list for one, no questions asked.

This turbo upgrade has truely made my truck more fun to drive.

Congrats Eric Great times! Wish I woulda been there. Well I have this figured with the money you have plunked down and if I put the same in my Lightning I would be running oh say 11. 30's :D Just a thought! Naw I think its totally BAD A$$ you ran a 13. 6 what was your RT, 60 Ft , 1/8th mile? THat is my curiosity????

Actually good point, but can you still get at least 15mpg (town)after doing such? Or can you go out in anyweather because you have 4 wheel drive? :D Hehe

On that run (first of the day - nervous all over again... ask Loren or John)

R/T - 1. 35

60' - 1. 91

1/8 - 8. 60

1/8 - 78. 08

Best R/T of the day was . 575,. 875,. 745 the rest were over 1. 0, working on launching smoothly rather then R/T for now. . once I get a good launch system going, I'll work on R/T :D

Best MPH for the day

1/8 - 79. 75

1/4 - 99. 28

I'll try to get the videos downloaded tonight when i get home before work, or tommorrow morning after work.

Going to turn up the boost to 40lbs (try to) and then see if I can pull out a 13. 5 before the end of the year.

keep setting the pace Kat....

That is great news cat. I love telling people that these Cummins run in the 13's, and then seeing their faces of disbelief. I have got to get me some injectors and transmission work done. I'll be catching up in 1/4 mile times as soon as I lose that pesky warrenty. ;)

Can't wait to see some videos. :D

i wouldn't change boost gauges , the 50 is what you need , you should be seeing 40 psi minimum , i would think 45 is a good number with those mods , i need to get another adjustable elbow , let a memeber use it on his truck and haven't seen him since , that was a year ago ...

10 psi is not alot of boost , try 5 , but it sounds like the turbo is spinning up to fast , i would see about getting a 14 housing , slow down the buildup of boost a bit , should help keep traction , your 4. 10s are also contributing to the traction problem ...

speaking of mileage , i got 19. 4 with dd3's alone on the trip to maryland doing 75mph and doing alot of playing , on the way back , doing about 70 , alot less playing i got over 20 , thats pretty close to my mileage with 275's so i think the DD3's will stay . .

Eric, AutoMeter has a 60psi boost gauge in the UltraLite Procomp style... I saw one at Enterprise Engine the other day. It's easier to read than the 50's we got.

If you got to change gauges, go with that one...

Great times, BTW. I'm jealous of that DTT transmission ya got... :D
