next NE meet?

For those of you in my neck of the woods, if you want to do the KDP fix, we are having a "small" BOMBing party at my place to do just this fix on the weekend of the 29th. If you are interested in attending, drop me an email and I will fill you in on more details. I figure we should be able to get around 10 trucks done. We're already up to 7. Hope to see you there.

One hour and 10 minutes per truck is not uncommon..... I did five in one day with the help of "JRowe", "RottnDogue", and others... .

CPFF's jig is really nice... . it makes the operation painless.

Assembly line is kinda what we are hoping for. I have enough space in the driveway to do 5 at one time. My neighbor has offered us the use of his garage also. So we should be able to motor right along.

I figure we can get started with a couple Friday night. We should be done by 10:00. And then do the rest on Saturday. By then we should have the bugs worked out. Saturday we should get started by 8:00-9:00 depending on where the motivation is. Other than that, the parts place will be open until 12:30 Friday night and 6:00 Saturday night.

I will keep you guys posted on any changes, if there are any.

Aron (Amianthus)

We haven't had the BOMBing event yet. It's this coming weekend.

For those of you that want to stay at a motel in the area, here are some places that are right on the interstate and within 15 minutes of my place.

Holiday Inn Express (608)783-6555

*Onalaska Inn (608)783-2270*

Super 8 (608)781-8880

Microtel (608)783-0833

Baymont (608)783-7191

Comfort Inn (608)781-7500

There is one campground near my place, although you'd need special directions to my place from the campground. It's also, not very far away. It is veterans memorial in west salem. (608)786-4011. $17 / night electrical hook up only. First come, first served. They have a dump station and water filling station, but nothing on the sites except electrical.

I'll keep you posted on developments as they happen.

FOOD?

If you supply the grill I'll supply the burgers and buns. Condiments are the sole responsibility of the consumer...

Nixter

I have several.

I've got a couple of grills and my neighbor will let me use his. Both of mine have seen better days though. One got run over by the truck and is in tough shape. If we wrap stuff in foil we can still cook with it:D.

If that's the general concensus, then that's what we'll do. There are lots of other options too.

Wish I could make it Aron, would love to check out what you done to the truck. Unfortunetly the BobCat is rented and I'l be doing landscaping all weekend.

Fly in the ointment.

Well, things were going way too smooth for this. Here's the deal gang. The jig hasn't shown up yet. It was supposed to be to ROADWARRIOR by last week. But it is held up somewhere. If the jig doesn't show up by this afternoon, I'm gonna pull the plug. Unless, someone has other ideas. I know this is short notice, but I wanted to be optimistic on it showing up on time for us to do the fix. Apparently, though, it may not happen. Sorry gang. So all I can say is stay tuned for further updates. I will post as soon as I can so that some of you can salvage your weekend. Keep an eye on this thread for more information as I get it.

Game On!

Just talked to ROADWARRIOR. He got the jig today. We're still set to go. Sorry about spooking everyone. But it will go off as planned. Whew!

Even I was scared that you all might not be able to do this... .

Keep us posted... . this jig makes it so nice to do... I'm curious how many you can get done/etc...

Matt

It was good seeing you guys again. Nixter, thanks for bringning and cooking the food. Aron thanks for SOME of the wings and the hospitality. Were your ears "burning" today? :(

Ken, thanks for the tip on the pump adjustment, one more thing to do when I have both hands.

Did Waynes Word show? That would make 6 pins, a pair of batteries (with the requisit run to Farm & Fleet), some good basic 12 valve BOMBs to a stock '94 and too many cheeseburgers eaten!

I had fun too.

Thanks for the help making this weekend go well. Thanks to Nick for the great burgers. Daisy and Pooka want to thank you too.

Thanks to Ken for jumping in right away and doing this fix. After the first one was done (Dan), the rest were easy. Thanks to Eric too for lending his talent to us. Your expertese on the 12 valvers made the weekend complete. Too bad Ken, you didn't have a camera when you passed by me at the accident scene.

All in all, it was a great time. Wayne showed up Sunday morning and we got his truck done. I wasn't moving really fast, but we got it done. He's got quite a ride, GB trans, #5 plate, etc. Thanks for letting me burn some miles off of them tires.

To answer your question, no, my ears weren't burning. Part a part that rhymes with ear was. :D Those wings will be my lunch on Monday. Heh, heh, heh.

Say, do you think we can get Scheids to squeeze a 5. 9 into my neighbors lawn tractor?

What fun!!! Thanks to Dan for getting the jig and to Aron for hosting the weekind. I vote we make Nick our official chef. Thanks to everyone for helping with my battery problem, that fixed it and today I installed a new belt. It was great seeing everyone again. Thanks Ken.

From the time it takes, I gather you are not removing the cover and checking the bolts. Note that a 95 I checked had a good tight pin but the bolts didn't have sealer on them and were loose, especially the one next to the pin. I remove 4 of the 5 bolts holding the case, clean and loctite them. The 5th is hidden by the gear--it is the one farthest from the pin. I also check the cam retainer bolts and oil pump bolts.

KDP fix

I also wanted to chime in and say thanks to all for the day. It's a load off to know that the KDP is fixed. Maybe we'll have to get together again and take care of all those bolts under the cover! Ken thanks for fine tuning my pump ,Nick for the food ,Aron for hosting, and all the rest. It was fun. See ya next time.

Ken

Thanks to Ken and Aron. I felt like a manager, sipping my soda, while they did the dirty work. Sorry I had to leave early, sounds like I missed some good burgers.

Thanks again,

Dan

kdp weekend

Amianthus,

My bride & I thank you for your help on my KDP. We feel much safer in the truck with the expected journey to Dallas later this year. It was a joy to bench race with you. Its to bad we didn't do a little street racing together.

I'm sorry that I missed the cookout and the other guys. Its always good to put faces with names that you read. Will try to not work but that brings in the bombing $'s. Whats next Columbus or Terra Haute?

Does anybody plan a tuneup or timing weekend? It would seem like a logical progression.

Keep me informed.
