Does anyone know of any shops which are fixing the KDP in the North Idaho or Eastern Washington area? I have called a couple of shops which do power upgrades and they did not even know what i was talking about. I have read the article on the procedure and some posts here and I do not think I am Mechanicaly inclined enough to takle this project. I have 77k on my 97 and can not even enjoy it any more because the kdp is always on my mind. Thanks in advance.

Thought you took care of it this winter. If you feel like taking a drive down to E. Oregon check this out https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53205. Pat ha sdone several fixes. If not the closest place I know for help is Seattle. The jig makes it to Spokane quite often, if you'd like I can hook you up with someone there next time it goes there. OR if you can make over to my place 40 miles So. of Missoula in the next couple of days before the jig goes to Oregon I'll help you. Let me know.

Gotta question using the tab method.

I have already done mine with the tab. At the time, I never thought about repairing the timing pin which on mine is broken off. With the front open, can you see the pin? If so, this sure would have been a good time to replace the broken one and mark TDC.
