Chris Guthrie was in Portland visiting relatives last week end so we got together to do some "mods" to his truck. I killed his KDP and we put in a set of injectors on Sunday 4/27. When he bought them they were supposed to be from BD so I figure they are Bosch 185's. I wanted to "tweek" his pump but someone had already been in there so I didn't want to break anything. I was hoping to set his timing up a little but the top nut on the pump - the one nearest to the engine was rounded and would not move with my 12 point. I will try to make a 6 point that will break it loose as he will be back up here several times this summer.

Now that Chris is back in Las Vegas he reports that he got 20 to 21 mpg on the way back but didn't see that much of an improvment. My guess is that the injectors that came out might have been 185's also. The were Bosch's with a 245 Bar but thats all that made sence to me. I am looking into them to see what the other numbers tell me.

I can't thank Bob enough for helping me out. I hope that he reports that those injectors that we took out are the stock injectors, i'll feel pretty stupid if they aren't. I'm gonna try to do a little more tweaking on my pump to see if i can get some more power out of it. Bob helped me out with alot of stuff i didn't know about on my pickup now i can pass the information on.

Bob , What kdp kit do you recomend, I need to put mine to rest. I have been waiting on one of the pass around kits for months now with no luck. I have been "next on the list" forever. I think I just need to buy a kit. Who makes the best one. copterdoc

I have put about 15 KDP's to rest using Harold "Cubby" Bowers jig. He markets several kits at very reasonable prices. I like his kit because you don't have to move the alternator and it has provisions for moving the dowel pin back in if it has moved. You can contact him at -- email address removed -- Good Luck - if you need any help let me know as I can walk you through it.
